By THE SPIRIT it was written in Genesis chapter 3:

1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;

3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

The fig leaves were sought to hide the Truth of the matter.  Adam and Eve chose to disregard FATHER’S warning and the first act after the fall was to cover up the reality of their nakedness.  They were now living their lives based on creating a perception rather than Truth.  Fast forward to the time of Jesus.  By THE SPIRIT Mark wrote in chapter 11:

12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry.

13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”  And His disciples heard it.

Jesus approached the fig tree in search of fruitfulness and only found leaves.  This story is both a  parable and a miracle so we must not disregard either.  Jesus expected fruit to be present on the fig tree but it was only producing leaves which provided the perception and expectation of fruitfulness.  He found no fruit.  How many of us are kidding ourselves by living only by perception and producing no fruit?  Are we making a difference in other people’s lives or are we having no effect?  Let us proceed to being fruitful in our purpose, not just taking up resources as the fruitless fig tree.

The fig tree was also involved in Jesus conveying a Truth about faith.  The disciples observed a miracle when Jesus spoke to the fig tree:

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

Let us embrace both lessons found in this passage about the fig tree: we need to be fruitful and we need to exercise our faith and doubt not.  How can we be fruitful if we lack faith?  How can we know if we are called to an area of interest if we find no fruit being produced in that area?  It is critical that we spend time with FATHER so that we deploy our resources toward being fruitful rather than simply biding time and supporting a perception.  The fig tree is meant to produce fruit and if it doesn’t within a reasonable period of time, it is to be plucked up and placed in the fire so that other trees can be planted and produced fruit from that ground.

We are to be fruitful in whatever and wherever we are placed.  Let us not settle for “leaves” only but expect “fruit” to come forth.  We must be patient yet when the fullness of time has arrived, we must be brutally honest in our observation and review.  If an area of interest is not bearing fruit, did we exercise our faith or did we simply accept a path we were never meant to pursue?  FATHER is ready and willing to correct the situation as we pursue time with HIM.  Paul (who was Saul) had taken the wrong path yet FATHER used him mightily.  Let his example be our encouragement.  Let each of us assess what we are in search of… let it be fruitfulness.

Ending Passiveness

Sunday, November 20th, 2016

By THE SPIRIT, Mark spoke in chapter 6:

12 So they (the disciples) went out and preached that people should repent.

13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.

As believers in Christ we have been given the command to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and expose the lawlessness at hand.  The word repent means to change one’s mind, path, or direction; to reconsider.  Many people have lost their moral compass and live their life with the “anything goes” mentality without any guidance to what is righteous, lawful, and proper.  Some people where pajamas in public as though they think they are starting a new trend.  Others walk around with their pants appearing to be “falling down” and holding on by the crotch.  When perverseness is left unchecked, society degenerates to new lows.

Before the disciples went out, Jesus empowered them:

7 And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.

8 He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts—

9 but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.

10 Also He said to them, “In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place.

11 And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

Were the twelve and the seventy the only ones to receive power and authority?  Absolutely not!  There have been many since who have carried the Gospel with the same power and authority up to this very day.  We must earnestly desire to walk in the same manner and seek FATHER in this area.  Let us come boldly to HIS Throne to be anointed just as the twelve and seventy were empowered.  There is a dying world out there that needs to hear the Gospel with signs following.  In chapter 16:

14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Notice that the first thing Jesus did was to have a corrective interview with the disciples for He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart.  We might need this same correction.  We must no longer be passive but speak HIS Word boldly as we are given opportunity.  Now is the time.

They Were Amazed!

By THE SPIRIT Mark wrote in chapter 2:

1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.

2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.

3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.

4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,

7 “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’?

10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic,

11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

Jesus was now a mature Son and could represent FATHER fully and completely thus He had the power and authority to forgive sins, cast out devils, and heal the sick.  The world cannot comprehend this mandate and did not expect to see the fruitfulness of the Kingdom before their very eyes.  However we should expect to operate in the same manner as we earnestly seek and desire the Spiritual gifts Paul speaks of in 1 Corinthians chapter 12.  As we continuously walk in the revelation of Love and as our faith becomes “great” faith, we will have signs following.  It is time to focus on what is important to the Kingdom and FATHER will take care of our needs as they arise.

These writings are meant to encourage you with HIS Word for us today!

Without Limitation

The beloved disciple wrote by THE SPIRIT in John 11:

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”

44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

The human body is subject to FATHER no matter what state it is in.  We must no longer regard death as a permanent state but look to FATHER in determining HIS plan, Will, and purpose for individuals.  If we are called to a work that will take more time FATHER will not allow death to swallow us up and short-circuit our calling.  I have had three instances where death was the expected result but FATHER delivered me out of harm’s way.  We should not fear death but instead trust FATHER.  HE will dispatch HIS angels and/or healing power in order to prevent any obstacle from hindering our purpose.  Knowing this brings forth peace.

We are not restricted by some condition man would set forth.  Let us no longer limit FATHER by our own understanding and knowledge.  HIS ability exceeds the vastness of the universe and we must simply acknowledge our limitation and listen to whatever HE instructs us to do.  There is nothing insurmountable in HIS EYES thus let us begin to see, hear, and respond in the same manner.

Let us increase in faith on a daily basis by meditating on HIS Word.  May we be fully passionate for HIS Presence and interaction with us so that we can minister to a world in dire need.  We must resist not the change brought on by THE WORD but embrace whatever change is necessary to remove any hindrance to the Divine flow in our lives. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” will become alive in each of us as we are perfected in faith being motivated by Love.

No Need To Wait

Thursday, November 17th, 2016

People are constantly waiting and watching for a sign while people all around them are suffering.  FATHER called HIMSELF “I AM”.  In Exodus chapter 3:

13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”

14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’”

We serve ONE WHO IS, not will be.  By THE SPIRIT David wrote in Psalm 103:

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul;

And all that is within me, bless His holy name!

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,

And forget not all His benefits:

3 Who forgives all your iniquities,

Who heals all your diseases,

4 Who redeems your life from destruction,

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Notice the present tense of what FATHER does.  We need not wait for some future watch date, star alignment, or other such sign.  Let us expect our deliverance today… now!

A Call to Repentance

Wednesday, November 16th, 2016

In 2 Chronicles chapter 7, FATHER spoke:

14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

16 For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.”

As a country, the United States needs to repent.  The sanctity of marriage, the unborn, and the worship of THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY have been compromised.  FATHER will protect us as individuals just as HE did when the children of Israel waited in their houses for the judgment of Egypt to be completed.  Once finished, the children went through the portal and departed Egypt.  They were not removed from the time of judgment but instead were sustained.  The time grows short and it is imperative that we not grow weary in our earnest pursuit of completely trusting in FATHER concerning every aspect of our life.

Love Heals

Tuesday, November 15th, 2016

Matthew wrote by THE SPIRIT in chapter 8:

14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.

15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.

Jesus never passed up an opportunity to heal those who were sick.  Peter’s mother-in-law was one such person who surely rejoiced and reported of Jesus’ healing power.  There was no mention of her being in sin, she was simply sick with a fever. In Luke we are given additional perspective:

38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her.

39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.

Jesus rebuked the fever.  The word rebuke means to express sharp disapproval.  Jesus did not belittle the lady for being sick nor did He correct her in any way but instead He simply ministered healing to her.  He did not tell her that FATHER wanted to teach her a lesson and that she must endure the sickness as a result.  Her body immediately responded to His touch and rebuke.  In addition, her strength was quickly restored which allowed her to serve the group.  Can you imagine the discussion afterward?  It is clear to us that FATHER’S Will is to heal us of our infirmities fully and completely.

Continuing in Matthew chapter 8:

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:

“He Himself took our infirmities

And bore our sicknesses.”

Isaiah prophesied by Divine Inspiration.  The Words he spoke were given to him directly by FATHER and we have been given the opportunity to see these Words come to pass.  In addition to our salvation, we are intended to live above sickness and disease.  The world would tell us their pharmaceuticals are the answer.  I say that we should earnestly desire and pursue FATHER’S Divine Intent for healing and restoration.  Is it a sin to take a pharmaceutical?  Absolutely not.  Until our faith rises up and removes all doubt and unbelief, we should seek FATHER in what HE would have us do.  Sometimes we need some relief in order to redirect our focus away from the pain while we pursue HIS perfect Will.  If we are void of HIS Word in an area it takes time to be “filled” with HIS Word.

Jesus did not deny the fact that the fever existed in Peter’s mother-in-law.  He simply dealt with it.  By THE SPIRIT James wrote in chapter 5:

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

There are times our beloved brothers and sisters get sick.  The demands and complexities of this world have become a challenge to our health.  Our nutritional sources are being compromised thus our bodies are working overtime to remain healthy.  We must not let pride or denial prevent us from focusing on FATHER’S Word concerning our healing.  Love is in the healing business and let us embrace any opportunity to align ourselves with one of the primary ministries of our elder Brother Jesus for He was in the healing business.  So should we.

Earnest Desire

Monday, November 14th, 2016

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 Corinthians chapter 14:

1  Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

In this one verse we are given the simplest of directives by FATHER.  Our first and foremost goal is to be fully grounded in Love and pursue its path in all matters.  Our perspective must be Love’s perspective when dealing with the various situations in life.  Our core motivation must be that of Love and not of self thus we will not exploit men as FATHER endows us with Spiritual gifts.

Earnest desire is serious, purposeful, and focused intent.  Once we have matured in Love let us earnest desire Spiritual gifts in order that we may better serve mankind.  When we see the multitudes in need we should be moved with compassion just as Jesus was moved with compassion in Matthew chapter 14:

14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Love not only is but Love does.  We must not let our hearts grow cold but stoke the fiery Word in our hearts and let our passion for the lost and sick motivate us to pursue FATHER’S Spiritual gifts in order that we may minister to a dying world.  Jesus proclaimed that we should “Go into all the world” so let us become fully equipped and answer the call.  By THE SPIRIT Paul wrote in 2 Timothy chapter 3:

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We should earnestly desire to be complete and equipped for every good work to benefit others, not just our self.  As we become fully equipped, we should expect the Holy Spirit to draw men and women to us in order that we may minister life to them.

In seeking the Spiritual gifts, we are to especially focus on prophesying.  To prophesy is to speak by Divine Inspiration.  In other words, we should speak what we hear FATHER telling us.  In John chapter 14, Jesus spoke:

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

All the words Jesus spoke were Divinely inspired by FATHER WHO dwells in Him.  FATHER dwells in us as well and we are to become HIS Mouthpiece to minister to all mankind.  Let our words be Divinely inspired and prophesy to those whom FATHER sends to us.  As we fully mature in these directives our “tent stakes” will be expanded and our ministry of Love will grow.  Let us earnestly desire to pursue the Spiritual Gifts given to us by FATHER.

Seeking To Glorify FATHER

Sunday, November 13th, 2016

By THE SPIRIT the beloved disciple John wrote what Jesus spoke in chapter 15:

7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”

Jesus only spoke the Word FATHER gave Him to speak thus FATHER’S Words abiding in us is the prerequisite to success.  Matthew wrote by THE SPIRIT for our edification in chapter 10:

1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

These twelve men had no worldly qualifications to boast about but they were simply willing vessels to be used by FATHER.  Jesus instructed them:

7 “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Consider the impact of this directive.  Were any of these men uniquely qualified to heal the sick prior to Jesus’ instructions?  Did any have a prior recorded history of healing the sick?  Only after being called, instructed, and given the power by Jesus did they carry out this directive.  Their only limitation was their faith as indicated in Mark chapter 9:14-29.  It should be our earnest desire to carry out FATHER’S Word on this earth and we must not concern ourselves with the opposition by the world as we walk out HIS Word.  Wisdom spoke in Proverbs chapter 13:

13 He who despises the word will be destroyed,

But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded.

14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life,

To turn one away from the snares of death.

Our reward of fruitfulness are the riches laid up in Heaven.  Jesus told the seventy who returned from ministering in His Name: “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”  This seventy received the same commission as the twelve disciples yet they were unnamed in the Gospels.  Let us also seek to serve mankind in the same manner that FATHER may be glorified on earth in the times we are now in.  We are willing vessels to minister in the same manner that Jesus commissioned the seventy as well as the twelve.  In Luke 10 Jesus spoke to the seventy:

9 “And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”

Upon their return:

17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

The power and authority Jesus spoke over them certainly exceeded their expectations.  Let us no longer settle for anything less than the fullness of Christ in our lives.  Let us fully embrace FATHER’S Word of Love, faith, and hope as we nurture the Word in us to grow to full maturity.  We should expect a bumper crop of fruit to come forth in our lives just as the twelve and the seventy experienced.  Jesus chose people with no credentials to do exceptional works on behalf of the Kingdom.  In that sense, you and I are qualified to walk out the commission in similar fashion.  In Mark 16 Jesus spoke:

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
