FATHER’S Banner

Tuesday, October 31st, 2017

A banner is a standard raised in battle as a rallying point for armies. GOD is described as Israel’s banner in recognition of his powerful defense of his people.  A banner is an indication to others of what “nationality” you belong.  As for my citizenship, it is with Our Heavenly Father and HE is known as Jehovah-nissi = "Jehovah is my banner" as indicated in Exodus chapter 17:

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner;

16 for he said, “Because the LORD has sworn: the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

The Amalekites were enemies of the Israelites and continued to harass and plunder the Israelites in successive generations that spanned hundreds of years.  Their goal was to eliminate GOD’S chosen people but FATHER placed HIS banner over the Israelites thus HE would not allow the Amalekites to ultimately prevail.  The same is the case today.  FATHER’S banner over us is Love and we are to convert our enemies by unconditional Love and allow FATHER to judge them according to what HE sees as necessary.

In the Song of Songs chapter 2 it is written by THE SPIRIT:

4 He brought me to the banqueting house,

And his banner over me was love.

As the Bride of Christ we have a banner of Love over us for we are HIS elect.  We must go through the purification process in order to be spotless at the time of the wedding.  A spotless bride will have a pure heart thus as Jesus stated in Matthew chapter 5:

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,

For they shall see God.

In the Revelation of Jesus Christ chapter 21:

2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

FATHER is preparing the Bride to receive HIM coming down out of heaven rather than us being removed from earth.  Verse 4 provides us with a clear indication of what will be removed from earth once the New Jerusalem is established on earth.  Death, sorrow, and pain will all be removed and will pass away.  HIS banner will be placed over the entire earth and peace will prevail.  First the elect will raise the standard as firstfruits but then afterward the whole earth will receive HIS glory.  What a day it will be when the banner is raised and there will be HIS nation under HIS banner.

HE Is Our Source

Monday, October 30th, 2017

It is written by THE SPIRIT in the Book of Daniel chapter 1:

17  As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

These four children are Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, the three are also known as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  We must never forget the SOURCE of our knowledge, skill, wisdom, and understanding because man would try to convince us otherwise.

In the area of health and nutrition, we each have a unique history of exposure to the environment and the various chemicals mankind has disbursed among us.  As a child I remember trees at the local park had painted rings of DDT (Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) and those were the trees we would climb.  In 1972 the use of DDT was banned because of its possible cancer-causing effects.  Mankind in its ignorance and/or greed exposed a multitude of people to the chemical which entered the bio-field of the body and would remain dormant for years.  Dr. Speckhart’s EDS device detected the electromagnetic signature of DDT in my body 50 years after exposure.

Who can we trust with our health given that no man knows our unique exposure to the environment?  Only FATHER!  In the Book of Daniel, we are specifically told that FATHER is the SOURCE of knowledge, skill, wisdom, and understanding thus who better to direct our individual diets and consumption than HIM?  Who better to direct our steps to health and recovery than the ONE WHO created our body?

When I urge my brothers and sisters to seek HIS FACE and be led by HIS SPIRIT there is a practical aspect to this.  As we become sensitive to The Holy Spirit we will be drawn to those foods which will minister life to our bodies and health to our bones.  I am an advocate of vitamins and supplements but each of us has a unique need in this area so we should not assume what one person needs will be the same for all.

Exercise is another area where we all have unique needs and should seek FATHER’S Wisdom and understanding to determine what we ought to be doing to stay strong.  Different body types have a different requirement for exercise so “one size does not fit all”.  The point is that as we become more sensitive to FATHER’S directives on a daily basis we will move toward better health.

What about the medical profession?  FATHER has placed some of HIS children in the healthcare industry so we should not resist HIS Wisdom if HE tells us to go seek medical care.  FATHER will use whatever resources HE sees fit to resolve our issue because HIS Love knows what lies ahead and how best to prepare us for the future.  If our faith and trust are weak, HIS Love will seek to correct the problem with a solution we can handle and support at our current level of understanding.  We must trust IN HIM for our health and existence for HE is the only ONE WHO fully knows our individual bodies.  Since HE is Our Source, let us seek HIS guidance in all matters including our health.

FATHER’S Reliability

Sunday, October 29th, 2017

It is written by THE SPIRIT in Deuteronomy chapter 31:

6 “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Our Heavenly Father is 100% reliable in every Word coming forth from HIM.  Who else would we want with us in the challenges we face?  FATHER is consistent in HIS commitments made to us by HIS Word and HE does not vary or change HIS character depending on the situation.  When HE makes a statement we should count on it to come to pass.  However we must not try to second guess HIS ways because HE will use all the factors coming into play to uniquely fulfill HIS Word in our lives.

We have a responsibility in our relationship with HIM just as Joshua was told in the above Scripture.  “Be strong and of good courage” is required of us as well for we will meet resistance from the world which has its own agenda in regard to our future.  We must not fear or be afraid of those who oppose us but instead trust FATHER to come to our defense.  HE will use other people on our behalf to cause HIS plan to come to fruition.  Those other people may be vessels of honor or vessels of dishonor, depending on the situation.  It is not our concern whom FATHER uses to bring forth HIS result.  After all, HE created all who walk the earth and knows the best use of their talents.

There have been times in my life when the future looked bleak but knowing that FATHER would never leave me nor forsake me gave me comfort and encouragement to continue on the path HE had me follow.  HE expects us to walk in faith and if there is never a challenge set before us how can we expect our faith to be exercised and grow stronger?  We must expect our faith to be tested.

We should know that THE LORD OUR GOD goes with us for HE is not some distant god who cannot hear us.  HE is with me when I awaken in the morning and is accessible all day, every day.  HIS Holy Spirit dwells inside of us thus we are always able to communicate with HIM everywhere we go.  I do not hesitate to talk to HIM throughout the day.  I seek to be led by HIS SPIRIT as I go about my daily activities because I know that FATHER will never leave nor forsake me.

My friend Kemper asked FATHER the following question. “What is the glory of THE LORD?”  HIS reply was “It is the manifestation of MY Intent.”  As we each seek to manifest FATHER’S Divine Intent in our lives, we will be able to see the Glory of THE LORD before our very eyes.  As we go about our daily activities and deal with the opposition to our calling, let us be strong and of good courage as we walk out FATHER’S directives for our lives.  This will allow each of us to see HIS Glory go before us.  Know that FATHER’S reliability means that HE is always willing and available to bring HIS Glory in our daily activities if we will only walk according to HIS plan for us.  Let us not be fearful when the opposition arises but let our faith IN HIM prevail.  Let us place our faith in the reality of FATHER being totally reliable in making sure HIS Word comes to pass.

The Pure Truth

Saturday, October 28th, 2017

It is written by THE SPIRIT in Isaiah 29:

13 Therefore the Lord said:

“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips,

But have removed their hearts far from Me,

And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work

Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder;

For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,

And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

FATHER guards HIS pure Truth even though men in their worldly wisdom think they can prevail by using deceptive devices to cover up the pure Truth.  FATHER will raise up those whom HE has designated to uncover the lies and deception thus allowing the pure Truth to once again come forth and expose all.

Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:

2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

What Paul is describing here has been occurring for the last several years.  Men have sought after the wisdom of the world because of their “itching ears” or an insatiable curiosity to hear new things.  They are not content to walk in the simplicity of Christ and spend quality time meditating on the pure Truth given to us by FATHER.  They seek after some new formula or another great mystery which has possibly been held back from mankind as though they view themselves as the movie character Indiana Jones finding the lost treasure.

Those itching ears seek out teachers who are more than willing to bring another into their fold of cult thinking.  Of course they claim to have the answer to success and blessing which happens to always be just out of reach.  The willing participants quickly forget the recent failures of their word and place their hope in some new “revelation” of the teacher which trumps the previous revelation.  Weeks, months, and years pass without any real fruit coming forth.

On the other hand we should continue pursuing the pure Truth provided by FATHER and minister to those who have ears to hear.  Our trust is with FATHER and HIS Word.  We are to remain vigilant when it comes to the teaching by those who would subtly tickle our ears with some new doctrine which on the surface seems to contain truth but our spirit senses that something is amiss.  We must guard our hearts and allow The Most Holy Spirit to provide us a witness.  As we are led by THE SPIRIT we will be able to discern the pure Truth from the “commandments of men”.

Unity In Purpose

Thursday, October 26th, 2017

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Ephesians chapter 4:

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ

I believe until we all come into unity in purpose our impact on the world will be hindered.  Paul equates the perfect man to the state of being in the “unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God” and the area we are lacking in is the unity of the faith.  You would think that those who Love FATHER would focus on being in unity but instead the focus seems to be on differences in doctrine.  That focus results from man’s ego wanting to judge and identify error in others.  That predisposition needs to end.

Judging others is simply a sign of spiritual immaturity for FATHER is the only ONE qualified to do the judging.  How can you claim to know what is in a man’s heart causing him to act in such a manner?  What does it matter if you disagree with someone about some secondary doctrine if both of you acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?  We need to focus on what we have in common, not what causes division.  Until we overcome these divisions, our effectiveness will suffer.  Paul continues:

14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Love overcomes division.  I find that many people want someone else to take the initiative to promote unity rather than themselves.  They are simply being lazy or allowing their ego to guide their steps.  Jesus didn’t come in the flesh to sit in the Temple and have everyone come to Him.  He went out among the people and shared the Gospel.  Those who claim to be overcomers need to hop off the sofa and actively promote unity among the brethren.

Those who only focus on Scripture learn to do things right whereas those who also pursue a close relationship with FATHER do the right things.  Each of us need to assess where we are at in this respect.  Paul gives us the key to becoming the perfect man and it requires unity in purpose.  We must ask the question “Am I promoting unity?”   If you aren’t then repent.  We can’t change the past but we can start promoting unity today which will have a direct effect on the perfecting of the saints.

The Great Mystery Revealed

Wednesday, October 25th, 2017

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 Timothy chapter 3:

14 These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly;

15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,

Justified in the Spirit,

Seen by angels,

Preached among the Gentiles,

Believed on in the world,

Received up in glory.

If you are reading this blog then you should be celebrating with me the revealing of the Great Mystery for our faith is in Jesus Christ Who is GOD manifested in the flesh and justified in THE SPIRIT.  Consider world history of the last 2,000 years and the impact Our Lord Jesus Christ has had on it.  Consider how many churches around the world were initially built to honor FATHER’S Son.  Yes, mankind has veered away from the simplicity of HIS message but nonetheless His impact can be felt around the world.

Many of us have had interventions by angels in order that our callings not be cut short.  Testimonies around the world overshadow any attempt to negate the reality of angels and their mission to support the Great Mystery and those who walk in faith.  Those who believe in Jesus Christ have exercised a level of faith which we must not forget but let us build upon that level of faith and become known as having “great faith”.

FATHER has confirmed HIS Word in our hearts countless times and expects us to hold fast to our faith in HIS Son.  Let us not be reluctant to testify of what Jesus Christ has done in our lives as we recount the blessings He has bestowed upon us in the past.  FATHER’S Love is expressed in every testimony so let HIS Love shine brightly in our faces as we minister to those in need.  Assure others that HE will not leave or forsake them but will grow mighty in their hearts if they will embrace HIS Word in their lives.

When I see those who have not accepted Christ in their lives I marvel at their lack of optimism about the future and fail to fully understand why they can’t see what is obvious to me.  The joy and gratitude I have knowing that FATHER is leading me and guiding me through all of life’s challenges should be obvious to those who do not have the joy I am experiencing.  I can cheerfully give without condition because I know it is FATHER’S will that I minister in that manner.

What man has impacted the world more than Our Lord Jesus Christ?  The answer is “No one!”  Men can try to rewrite history but it does not matter for Our Lord’s “fingerprints” are everywhere.  Let us express our gratitude by testifying of what Christ has done in our individual lives and provide the sinner with an opportunity to accept Christ in his or her heart.  Let each of us be a walking testimony by not only our word but our actions as well.  Even when we are being challenged we should walk in Love and gratitude for that is the time when others look to see if we truly have faith in Our Heavenly Father.  As for me, I am grateful that the Great mystery has been revealed.

Let HIS Peace Reign

Tuesday, October 24th, 2017

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Philippians chapter 4:

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

We all have a certain amount of time in a day to focus on what we individually believe is important.  What we do with our time actually reflects our priorities just as what we spend our money on is an indication of our priorities as well.  I strongly urge those who read these blogs to allocate time each day to pursue a closer relationship with FATHER through prayer and supplication (petition) as well as meditating on HIM in a quiet, undistracted state.  As we do HIS peace will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

There are times when we have been deployed to do things for FATHER but there are also times when we should be still before HIM.  HE is not a taskmaster who expects us to be busy all the time and HE knows better than anyone that we need rest.  Many of us are bombarded each day with the world’s agenda and issues thus we must guard our hearts lest the peace be taken from us.  If we perceive anxiety coming upon us then it is time to seek to be close to HIM until that anxiety subsides, for IN HIM we have our being.

HIS peace will surpass our understanding.  We must not attempt to analyze the situation we are in attempting to conjure up our own peace but let FATHER immerse us in HIS peace.  Since HIS ways are higher than ours, let us simply accept HIS peace without having the full understanding many seek.

FATHER has no issue with us petitioning HIM to meet our needs.  After all, HE is Jehovah Jireh OUR PROVIDER.  No matter how mature we become we should not allow self righteousness keep us from petitioning FATHER to meet a particular need.  Jesus had no issue in praying before FATHER on a daily basis as He would separate Himself to commune with FATHER.  Jesus is our best example so let us not hesitate to pray daily.

When we pray to FATHER it is an act of faith and trust IN HIM.  Since HE is the Creator we should come to HIM in thanksgiving knowing that HE has given us access to HIM to minister life to us whenever the need arises.  This in itself should increase our peace.  Because of HIS Love HE sent HIS Son to reconcile us to HIM so we should not hesitate to include Our Heavenly Father when we come up against the challenges set before us in this world.  HE is greater than any sickness or disease and HE knows the best course to take to remedy us of the malady.  You can be assured that HIS remedy will be specific to our situation and for our particular good.  HE will heal some instantly and others will be directed toward other means.  HE may use a combination of things to bring forth our healing so we should not second guess HIS Wisdom but allow HIM to direct our footsteps to restoration.  When we are fully led by THE SPIRIT then HIS peace will reign in our hearts.

A Comment Concerning The Video

Monday, October 23rd, 2017

For those of us who have spent decades following Christ, this seems to express the reality:

“What comes to my mind after watching the video is that there are times and seasons of life. There was a time when I forsook all, left my business, packed up the family and went into the ministry to preach the gospel. There was a time when I needed to work in order to pay rent and put food on the table because the people I was ministering to were so poor they did not have the means to provide for me and no one showed up on my doorstep with a care package. There was a time when I was expelled from the denomination and had to seek work feeding swine for 10 years. There was a time when I worked 2 jobs in order to provide a decent education for my children so they could have a better life than I have had. There was a time that I got hurt and could not work and my neighbors came to my aide.  There was a time that I realized I was getting old and someday I would be unable to work so it was necessary to put back funds for retirement. There was a time when I realized that life is simply a classroom for God’s children, that no two children are alike and each one has to follow a specific path in order to complete their training. I am old now and have learned not to listen to those who wish to condemn me or beat me over the head with the bible. I’ve been in and seen cults and communes. I can tell you first hand they don’t work long term and people usually get hurt.  There was a time when I understood being a disciple of Jesus Christ is all about walking in love (thank you brother Bob). There was a time that I realized all my self righteous acts were not going to make me stand approved before God.

Many teachings contain a Truth in them but we must not assume the rest of the teaching is applicable to all who listen to the teaching.  This is why each of us must seek to hear FATHER and be led by The Holy Spirit each and every day.  Each part of the Body has a unique function with unique resource requirements.  Many are called to work in order to support those who are specifically called to the ministry.  Without support as mentioned above, how can one minister and be a testimony?  We must not be quick to embrace all teaching but let The Holy Spirit minister whatever Truth we need and is appropriate to our particular situation.

Paul wrote in Philippians chapter 4:

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

14 Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress.

15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.

17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Paul was supported by the church at Philippi and he expressed his appreciation of their willingness to give.  FATHER knows that there is a need for men and women to work in various vocations in order to support the ministry.  We must be careful in what we hear and assume that it applies to us as well.  FATHER will confirm HIS Word to each of us and we will have peace when we are led to act.  FATHER will also open the door if we are called to the ministry and will provide whatever we need in order to be successful.

Until we get a different directive from FATHER, we should continue on the path HE has us on.  I can share the Gospel in the workplace just as easy as anywhere else.  FATHER is the ONE WHO established the value of gold and silver which money represents in general.  We must not serve money but simply use it appropriately for buying and selling.  A cheerful giver is pleasing to FATHER and if you have nothing to give then how can you be counted as one?

Hopefully these last two blogs provide us with a better perspective on guarding our hearts when it comes to the various teachings available on the Internet.
