To Honor

To honor is to value and respect.

To dishonor is to treat as common, ordinary, and not show respect or value… in action, word, and/or thought.

It is written by THE SPIRT in Isaiah chapter 29:

13  This is what the Lord says about these people: “They come near to Me with hollow words and honor Me superficially with their lips; all the while their hearts run far away from Me! Their worship is nothing more than man-made rules.

14 So therefore, I will again jolt this people awake with astonishing wonders upon wonders! And the wisdom of their wise ones will fail, and the intelligent know-it-alls will have no explanations.

15 Woe to you who think you can hide your plan from the Lord Yahweh. Ha! Do you actually think your secret schemes are so hidden that you say, ‘Who sees us doing this? No one knows what we’re doing!’

16 Oh, how great is your perversion! Who is more intelligent—the potter or the clay? Should a created thing say to its creator, ‘You didn’t make Me’? Should a clay pot say to the potter, ‘You don’t understand’?”  TPT

There are many who claim to honor the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY but do not really know HIM.  Those people will reap what they sow for their thoughts are fully exposed to FATHER and they will receive no reward from HIM.  Instead, they will receive HIS righteous judgment.

Mark recorded by The Holy Spirit in chapter 6:

1  Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him.

2 And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!

3 Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.

4 But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”

5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.

6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.  NKJV

True honor brings forth the miraculous.  No honor, no miracles.

Put in other words:

He was unable to do any great miracle in Nazareth, except to heal a few sick people by laying his hands upon them.

The people of Jesus’ hometown operated in perception versus the reality of Who He is.  I call this the law of familiarity.  People look at the outward man rather than the inward man.  Our past does not define our present state.  FATHER dealt with our past through the Blood of Jesus.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 10:

40  “Whoever receives you receives (honors) Me, and whoever receives me receives (honors) the One who sent me.

41 Whoever receives (honors) a prophet because he is God’s messenger will share a prophet’s reward. And whoever welcomes (honors) a good and Godly man because he follows Me will also share in his reward.

42 And whoever gives a cup of cold water to one of my humble disciples, I promise you, he will not go unrewarded.”

Honor brings reward!
