The Fear of THE LORD: Part 6

Walking in The Fear of THE LORD requires our understanding of HIS Divine Intent!

If you are not walking according to the expectations of Jesus, you must repent.  Repentance means to change our mind and walk in a different direction.  We must no longer walk in a worldly direction but instead walk in a GODLY manner that is consistent with our destiny established before we were born.  People have a strong tendency to resist changing their minds.  Jesus saw this in the Pharisees… they missed it!  They were unwilling to correct their thinking.  We must be willing to correct our thinking as well.

We must prove our repentance through a changed life.

The Fear of THE LORD is not being scared of GOD.  To fear GOD means to venerate HIM.  The word venerate means: to honor, respect, esteem, value, reverence, and to stand in awe of HIM more than anything or anyone else.  We firmly embrace GOD’S Heart; we Love what HE Loves and we hate what HE hates.  HE Loves sinners but hates their sins.

Being scared means that you have something to hide from THE LORD whereas the Fear of THE LORD means you have nothing to hide.

Moses recorded by THE SPIRIT in Exodus chapter 20:

20  And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His Fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.”

21 So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.

We are meant to run to The Presence of THE LORD, not away from HIM!  Moses tried to correct their thinking but except for Joshua and Caleb, the adults would not change their minds.  As a result, they never entered the Promised Land.

Wisdom wrote in Proverbs chapter 1:

2  To know Wisdom and instruction, To perceive the Words of understanding,

3 To receive the instruction of Wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity;

4 To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion-

5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,

6 To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles.

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 12:

28  Therefore, since we are receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear.

29 For Our God is a consuming Fire.

The Holy Spirit will correct our course and move us toward the Consuming Fire if we are willing to change (i.e., repent).  Embrace FATHER’S correction and do not allow your emotions to dictate your response.  Repentance is positive so don’t allow pride to prevent you to walk with a repentant heart.

Repentance is to get us back on track with FATHER’S original plan for us!
