Salvation, Strength, Kingdom, and Power

Revelation 12:10   Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Over the years I have heard many sermons about the three archangels (Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer) and assumed those mature speakers had done their homework.  Wrong!  There is only one archangel.  This word means “chief of the angels” or “ruler over angels”.  With this in mind, let us read from Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians chapter 4:

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Jesus Christ is the head over all the messengers of Heaven.  There is only one archangel and He is the Chief Messenger of the Divine Intent of FATHER.  All others are of His army.  After Joshua had crossed the Jordan river, entered the Promised Land, and had his warriors circumcised,  he encounter a mighty Captain of the Lord’s host.  This captain or commander is the “commander-in-chief” and there is only One thus described in the book of Revelation- The King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  The name Joshua means "Jehovah is salvation" and is a type and shadow of the man Jesus leading the army into battle.  The Captain of the Host represents Jesus leading the Spiritual battle.  The revelation of Jesus Christ brings forth victory over all realms in our lives- spirit, soul, and body.  Jesus is represented throughout Scripture in many facets and manifestations.  He is known as the fourth Man in the furnace in the book of Daniel.  In Ezekiel He is the Four-Faced Man.  We must not restrict Jesus by our own limited view for He manifested Himself to the disciples after His resurrection:

Luke 24:36  Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.”

John 20:19  Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

John 21:7  Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!”

Do you think Jesus Who was with FATHER “in the beginning” had any restriction from appearing prior to 2 B.C.?  This message of salvation is found throughout Scripture.  Jesus is the Chief Messenger of FATHER’S Divine Intent thus when we read that Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, we must dig deeper into this Archangel’s underlying meaning.  Michael = "who is like God".  Who else is described in such a manner?

Revelation 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.

13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

Jesus Christ will descend from Heaven with an archangel’s voice, a shout, and a trumpet, then the dead in Christ will rise first.  Let’s compare this portion of John’s vision to Daniel’s vision in Daniel 12:

1 “At that time Michael shall stand up,

The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people;

And there shall be a time of trouble,

Such as never was since there was a nation,

Even to that time.

And at that time your people shall be delivered,

Every one who is found written in the book.

2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,

Some to everlasting life,

Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

3 Those who are wise shall shine

Like the brightness of the firmament,

And those who turn many to righteousness

Like the stars forever and ever.

This passage speaks of the end time, the same as John’s vision in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.  Both speak of a “time of trouble” which in turn reveals that Our Heavenly Father in not unprepared but will once again deliver all of creation from the effects of the prince of the world.  This will be a time unparalleled in human history so we should refrain from placing FATHER in some box of limited expectation.  Be ready to cast down all of your preconceived ideas, doctrines, past assumptions, and anything else that will be subject to a higher level of understanding.  Likewise, the accuser of the brethren has been cast down from the high place (our thinking) and the Blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony, and the death of our flesh provided this victory.  The past is dead and behold all things are new.

In other words, expect the unexpected!  Salvation, Strength, Kingdom, and Power are now at hand.
