Generous Giving

The current system promotes scarcity yet FATHER continues to create galaxies at an exponential rate.  Man’s ways move toward scarcity whereas FATHER’S way moves toward abundance.  Why are so many barely getting by?  I would suggest that they are living without being fully connected with FATHER.  Why?  Do you think a loving father would withhold any good thing from his son or daughter?  Jesus clearly stated the Love of FATHER for HIS children:

Luke 11:9  “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

10  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

11  If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?

12  Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

In the above passage, Jesus is speaking about asking for and receiving the Holy Spirit to become resident and operational in men’s lives.  Do you think this is the only application and manifestation of FATHER’S Love?  This is the critical first step in being led by THE SPIRIT for you must receive the Holy Spirit in order to be led.  But to what end?  Isn’t being led by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of establishing FATHER’S Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven?

One of the simplest ways to get people’s attention is to be generous.  When you seek to give more than what is requested, it impacts the recipient in a notable fashion.  What message does it send?  “I want you to live beyond scarcity and I will be a part of overcoming lack in your life.”  What is your response when you buy a good or service and receive more than what you bargained for?  How do you feel about the other party?

Luke 6:37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Generous giving requires that the giver to judge not, condemn not, and forgive for this is what Love does.  It is so easy for the one who has resources to rationalize why the recipient should not be given too much.  “They are poor stewards so it won’t do any good.”  “They don’t need my help, they already have plenty.”  “They wronged me so why should I help them?”  The list goes on and on.  Consider your past acts toward FATHER?  You too were ungodly when Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for you.

If you are not a generous giver, you are void of HIS Word in that area.  I learned this reality the hard way in 1984.  I had been living in Divine health for over 5 years at the time and FATHER told me to slow down.  My job was extremely demanding and I had much to do.  In April of that year I contracted Hepatitis A from shellfish and it turned out to be the worst case our doctor had encountered.  Upset, I went to FATHER about this unexpected illness and HE told me I was “void of HIS Word”.  I pleaded my case and reminded HIM of all the Christian books and tapes I consumed, intense study associated with those materials, etc.  His question to me- “When was the last time you studied My Word in the area of health and healing?”  Oops!  Since I had been healthy, the topic was not a priority.

In looking back, that was selfish of me for others could have received ministry by HIS Word from my mouth.  I repented and was given specific instructions for removing the void in this area.  The result was that after 11 days, I was healed of Hepatitis when according to my doctor I should have been off work for a minimum of six weeks.  It was a tough lesson but I am grateful.

You can’t give what you don’t have.  In James chapter 4 we read:

3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Do you earnestly seek to be a conduit for FATHER’S Love to mankind or are your prayers mainly about getting your own needs met?  The flesh cannot understand that when you have others’ best interest at heart, your needs are met as well.  You may say that you have nothing to give?  We all have time we can give.  We all have words and acts of kindness to distribute.  Start with what you have and see if FATHER doesn’t expand your sphere of influence.  It starts with the seeds of generous giving.  HE will provide the increase for HE is not slack to perform HIS Word.
