Compensating for the lack of Love

The word compensate means to be equivalent to,  to make an appropriate and usually counterbalancing payment, to provide with means of counteracting variation,  to neutralize the effect of (variations), to offset an error, defect, or undesired effect.  In Scripture, the word recompense is used to convey a similar result or meaning.

Proverbs 20:22  Do not say, “I will recompense evil”;

Wait for the LORD, and He will save you.

23 Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD,

And dishonest scales are not good.

When men wrong you, FATHER tells us to let HIM take care of the issue of “compensation” or balancing the scales.  If you take action against that other person then you have sought your own justice and effectively eliminated the proper handling of the act of the other person.  As the injustices pile up against the masses by those in control, FATHER is taking note and will ultimately balance the scales of justice and appropriate the resources to righteously judge the lawless.  We need not take it upon ourselves to administer our own justice.

Our fear tends to compensate for our lack of Love when we are wronged.  Rage and anger are often associated with this fear.  If we would only pursue Love and let it remove those deep-seated fears, we would be at peace when we are wronged.  The current system is full of lawlessness and sin which in turn causes us to be subjected to it.  We must not let this injustice steal our peace but we must trust FATHER in these tumultuous times.  Isn’t that the ultimate test of maturity?

Those who do not walk in Love will often create a wall to defend themselves from others.  They will use knowledge in an attempt to compensate for their lack of Love.  They will debate their position with facts rather than revelation in an attempt to strong arm the other person into submission.  They will use some form of intimidation in order to coerce the other person into submitting to their way of thinking.  They will exploit any perceived weakness of the other person in order to get their way.  Their ego will take control of the situation in an attempt to protect its exalted status.

As we continue our walk in Love we must guard ourselves from those who would divert our path.  We must be able to discern when others are walking another path and not be persuaded to join them.  They will exploit your weakness and stroke your ego in order to convince you that their way is the right way.  How are you able to determine if they are on the right path?  Look at the fruit of their life and inspect their words just as Jesus did:

Matthew 12:33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”

And compare their fruit to the fruit of the Holy Spirit:

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE.  If you encounter someone who has good fruit, join them in pursuing THE WAY.  But do not follow them and become passive in your pursuit of an intimate relationship with FATHER.  There are many sitting in pews today that have submitted themselves to the church officials and are being led on another path.  We should fellowship with those on the same path leading to the perfection of Love.  We should minister to those who are on a different path but we must not submit to their path even though they may defend the course they are following.  If they lack Love, they will compensate for it and convince themselves they are on the right path as a form of justification.  They will rationalize why they are miserable and want others to join them.  After all, misery loves company.

Let FATHER take care of those who would attempt to move you away from THE WAY and continue your walk toward full Spiritual maturity.  Many are called but few are chosen.  The path FATHER has called us to take will not be crowded because the blindness is increasing among the masses.  Men have become lukewarm and have pursued the ways of the world.  Once they have taken another path, they begin compensating for the failure associated with that path and will impact those around them.  Their lawlessness and sin will create an imbalance.  Let FATHER handle the issue of compensation.  In the end you will be glad HE did.
