Expected Shift in Healthcare: Part 4 (Infrastructure Resistance)

The next aspect of the expected shift is the resistance to change by the current infrastructure.  My health insurance company sent out a notice of premium increase as of November 1st.  So much for negative inflation.  When was the last time you received a notice that your premium was being reduced?  Remember ten years ago when hospitals were losing money yet were in massive building programs?

Below is a chart of the largest pharmaceutical companies:

Do you think these companies are going to tolerate a change in the healthcare paradigm?  With $400-500 Billion of revenue at stake among these companies, will they graciously agree that society should pursue another path toward healing and healthcare?  Hospital, physician, and medical support revenues would all suffer if healthcare moves toward a “healing” methodology versus the current symptom treating methods.  How did the men and women of the Old Testament times survive without their prescriptions?  Could those 70,000 man-made chemicals roaming around the earth have something to do with the current healthcare paradigm?  I wonder what it would be like to have a monthly premium of $100 again?

About 4 miles north of our house is the “American Cancer Society” facility.  If a cure for cancer is found and widely accepted, would we need them anymore?  It looks like they are not planning to close down anytime soon.

There are two viable ways for the shift in healthcare to occur:

1.  Our Heavenly Father brings an economic upheaval that forces the current system to fail and at the same time, HE brings forth a Kingdom based alternative.

2. New technologies and methods are developed and deployed in lesser developed countries that are not influenced by the western medical infrastructure.

A charitable organization who loves mankind and wants to improve global healthcare would most likely pursue #2 until #1 arrives.
