Are We Reliable Yet?

By THE SPIRIT, David wrote in Psalm 25:

14  The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant.

The “secret” is HIS intimate, Divine counsel and instruction.  HE directs those who reverence and obey HIS Word.  In Deuteronomy chapter 13 FATHER gave a specific directive:

4 You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

We should purpose to walk each day obeying HIS Voice and we do that by hearing and responding accordingly.  HE will guide you into a purity in all your actions and those actions will be uncompromising according to HIS Divine character of Love.  You will simply do the right thing no matter how small or inconvenient.  FATHER is looking for those who will obey HIS every command and embrace the SPIRIT behind the command.  In Deuteronomy 13 FATHER begins the chapter describing a test:

1 “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,

2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’

3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Notice that signs and wonders can mislead you.  This is why I am constantly emphasizing the importance of hearing FATHER in all matters.  If this were not an issue, FATHER would not be warning us about it.  I got caught up in paying to much attention to signs in the 1990’s and went through a severe correction because of the diversion.  FATHER poses a question to us- Do we Love HIM with all our heart and all our soul?  When we obey HIS commands with joy and purity, we can truly answer “Yes”.

In Luke chapter 12, Jesus spoke:

35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;

36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.

37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.

38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

We need to walk in consistent obedience so that we are "dressed in readiness, and are keeping our lamps lit”.  We need to be ready to do the right thing in all instances no matter what it takes.  We must remove the compromise out of our thoughts and actions for we have the choice to do so.  When a contrary thought comes to me, I simply say “I don’t want to think about it” and cast it down.  I am unwilling to dwell on any thought which would move me away from FATHER’S directives.  Paul wrote of this response in 2 Corinthians chapter 10:

5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Has someone wronged you?  Get over it immediately so that you are not hindered in your walk.  FATHER will take care of the other party in HIS Divine Love and correction.  As the above passage in Deuteronomy states, we will be tested to see where our level of obedience to HIM stands.  As we mature in our walk of hearing and responding to HIS Word, we will be given greater responsibility in the Kingdom.

In Matthew 25 Jesus shared the parable of the talents where there were three servants given directives by the Master.  At the conclusion of this parable, Jesus spoke:

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Daily circumstances test each of us to reveal where we are at in our walk.  Let us listen and obey HIS Voice in all matters so that we will be known as good and faithful servants.  As we become consistent in our walk we will be given more responsibility in HIS Kingdom and our lights will shine brighter.  HE will see us as reliable Sons and Daughters.
