Early In The Morning

In Luke chapter 21 Jesus spoke:

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.

35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

37 And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet.

38 Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple to hear Him.

I find it interesting that Jesus preferred to stay in Bethany and only go into Jerusalem to minister.  His time of fellowship was away from the city.  Mount Olivet was near Bethany and Jesus would separate Himself and have private discussions with the disciples there.  People were drawn to Jesus and arose early in the morning to hear His Word.  The above passage is a warning to us about the times ahead.  “That Day” includes everyone who dwells on the face of the whole earth which includes you and me.  We are called to be prepared.

Now is not the time to be lethargic and focus on the temporal.  We should not concern ourselves with food, drink, and the cares of the world but instead we should direct our attention on the Spiritually important.  We can take care of daily duties without being consumed by them and compromising our mandate from Above.  Let us be always aware and prepared to minister as THE SPIRIT guides us.  Let us not be distracted by things that don’t really matter In the big picture.

We are to pray that we may be counted worthy to escape these things.  We must want, ask, seek, and desire of FATHER all things important to HIS Divine Intent for our lives.  As we walk in HIS Intent we are worthy to escape these things that will surely come to pass.

You may say “Well, nothing has happened nor does anything appear to be at hand which would shake the whole earth.”  I can tell you that at 7:01 AM on September 3rd of this year, everything seemed normal.  One minute later we experienced at 5.8 earthquake that shook this whole house for nearly a minute.  That was the largest earthquake in state history.  Jesus has warned us to expect the unexpected and prepare.  We must place our trust in FATHER and should start the day expecting to hear HIS Voice.

In John chapter 8 the Beloved Disciple wrote by THE SPIRIT:

1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 Now very early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.

FATHER is willing to teach those who show up early in the morning.  How better than to start your day with a specific, relevant Word from FATHER!  This will serve you throughout the day and I see quite often that a circumstance will arise where I have been prepared to deal with it in accordance with FATHER’S early morning instruction.

Only those who are committed to be counted worthy will heed this warning.  What is more important than remaining in a state of preparedness?  As for me, I look forward to the early morning and hearing what in on FATHER’s Mind.
