FATHER’S Banner

A banner is a standard raised in battle as a rallying point for armies. GOD is described as Israel’s banner in recognition of his powerful defense of his people.  A banner is an indication to others of what “nationality” you belong.  As for my citizenship, it is with Our Heavenly Father and HE is known as Jehovah-nissi = "Jehovah is my banner" as indicated in Exodus chapter 17:

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner;

16 for he said, “Because the LORD has sworn: the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

The Amalekites were enemies of the Israelites and continued to harass and plunder the Israelites in successive generations that spanned hundreds of years.  Their goal was to eliminate GOD’S chosen people but FATHER placed HIS banner over the Israelites thus HE would not allow the Amalekites to ultimately prevail.  The same is the case today.  FATHER’S banner over us is Love and we are to convert our enemies by unconditional Love and allow FATHER to judge them according to what HE sees as necessary.

In the Song of Songs chapter 2 it is written by THE SPIRIT:

4 He brought me to the banqueting house,

And his banner over me was love.

As the Bride of Christ we have a banner of Love over us for we are HIS elect.  We must go through the purification process in order to be spotless at the time of the wedding.  A spotless bride will have a pure heart thus as Jesus stated in Matthew chapter 5:

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,

For they shall see God.

In the Revelation of Jesus Christ chapter 21:

2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

FATHER is preparing the Bride to receive HIM coming down out of heaven rather than us being removed from earth.  Verse 4 provides us with a clear indication of what will be removed from earth once the New Jerusalem is established on earth.  Death, sorrow, and pain will all be removed and will pass away.  HIS banner will be placed over the entire earth and peace will prevail.  First the elect will raise the standard as firstfruits but then afterward the whole earth will receive HIS glory.  What a day it will be when the banner is raised and there will be HIS nation under HIS banner.
