Our Focus

Where is our focus- on the problem or on the true solution?  When we are sick or have contracted a disease, the medical community is trained to treat the symptoms hoping to resolve the problem.  They treat the body even though the problem could be impacted by the spiritual, mental, or emotional states of the patient.  Their goal is relief and reduction of symptoms.  However the body is designed to heal itself so if they can help the immune system in some way, the body will begin healing.  Our Heavenly Father has a superior means of healing thus HE sent HIS Son to show us “The Way”.

FATHER does not just treat symptoms, HE removes the source of the problem thus we need to focus on HIS solution.  Don’t get me wrong, if you are currently being treated a doctor you should continue until your healing is complete.  If you are healed of the sickness or disease quicker and better than the doctor expected then you have a documented testimony.  The beloved disciple wrote in 1 John chapter 2:

1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 And He Himself is the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

In the above passage THE SPIRIT states “Jesus IS” not “Jesus was”.  Jesus continues to intercede on our behalf in all areas thus our requests made known to FATHER do not fall on deaf ears but FATHER sees us through the Blood of Christ and we are fully acceptable in HIS sight.  In HIS great grace and mercy, FATHER is Our Healer because HE Loves us unconditionally.  We don’t have to perform in order to receive healing other than believe HIM and doubt not in our hearts.  I find that doubt is the biggest hindrance to receiving from FATHER.  When reading the Gospels we find that Jesus never withheld healing but always healed when the recipients were willing.  In Acts chapter 3 it is written by THE SPIRIT:

1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;

3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”

5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

This man had a birth defect and never expected to walk but he also did not expect to meet up with the disciples who now had the revelation of healing.  The revelation contained in name of Jesus Christ has the power and authority to heal any issue confronting us just as that same power healed the lame man.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).   Peter had to change the focus of the lame man before he could receive his healing.  We too must change our focus and look to our High Priest Who is the manifested Healer representing the Love of FATHER toward us.

The ONE WHO formed us in the womb knows every particle of our makeup and knows how all of them should function together in a normal fashion.  Who better to look to for our healing and health.  Vitamins are good but they don’t heal us.  Technology is also good but it doesn’t heal us and we should not idolize either in hope of being healed.  Men can create idols and begin to place their trust in the created rather than placing their focus on The True Healer.  This is why Jesus never healed people in a manner where men could take the focus away from The Healer by developing a formula for healing.  It is written by THE SPIRIT in Matthew chapter 13:

54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?

55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?”

57 So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”

58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

We must not allow logic and reasoning to divert the focus away from Our Healer for it produces unbelief of the Spiritual power and authority.  As we properly direct our focus on the true Source of healing our faith will grow and replace the unbelief which is keeping us from fully accepting the healing power manifested through Jesus Christ.  Jesus preached The Word then healed the people.  Let us receive HIS Word and be healed in the same manner.
