Jesus’ Purpose

The Beloved Disciple wrote by THE SPIRIT in 1 John chapter 3:

8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

FATHER gave Jesus a clear directive- destroy the works of the devil.  He did just that as He submitted to the pain and suffering before the cross and being nailed to the cross, suffering death on our behalf.  Both acts were necessary to destroy the works of the devil.  Many believers accept the work on the cross but have not been sufficiently taught concerning His suffering before the cross.  This is why there is so much sickness and disease among believers even though Jesus Christ paid the price to alleviate sickness and disease.

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Colossians chapter 2:

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Jesus destroyed the works of the devil, spoiled his power, and triumphed over him.  Jesus’ triumph was our triumph, His victory was our victory for He did nothing for Himself, He did it for us!  It is a shame that we have not been consistently taught about Jesus’ two-fold purpose in suffering the cross.  When we take communion, we should be acutely aware of both aspects of our redemption.  FATHER is not willing that any should perish as Peter recorded in 2 Peter chapter 3:

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

If FATHER desires for all of mankind to be restored, then there are no hidden restrictions to being saved.  Jesus died for all of mankind, not just a few.  Moreover, He suffered the stripes on His back for all of us to be healed of sickness and disease, not just a few.  This revelation is available to every single one of us who will diligently seek HIM out in this area.  THE SPIRIT wrote in Hebrews chapter 11:

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The word diligent means constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything.  As we become diligent in our expectation of walking in great faith concerning healing, FATHER will happily reward us.  The issue is not that HE is withholding HIS healing power, the issue lies with our unbelief that HE is ready and willing heal us.  We have been diluted with unbelief in this area by the constant references to alternatives to healing.  I am not against doctors, but their methods and training are meant to provide temporary answers to health and healing.  FATHER allowed for doctors and medicine as a means to sustain us until we developed faith and trust in HIS Word concerning healing.  HE did this because HE Loves us and wants to keep us alive so that we can permanently overcome the adversary’s devices.

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Galatians chapter 2:

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Jesus gave His life for you and me so that we could receive salvation.  He suffered for you and me so that we could receive healing.  Both acts are represented in Communion so let us not deemphasize the healing aspect of His sacrifice any longer.  As we diligently seek revelation in this aspect of His two-fold purpose, our bodies will begin to line up with The Word in the area of healing.  Our assurance of Divine healing will rise up to the same level as our assurance of our salvation.
