Times Of Celebration

FATHER gave Moses instructions in Leviticus chapter 23 for celebrating special events:

23 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

24 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

25 You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.’ ”

And…

39 ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest.

40 And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.

41 You shall keep it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

42 You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths,

43 that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.’ ”

44 So Moses declared to the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.

These particular feasts are The Feast of Trumpets and The Feast of Tabernacles although FATHER has other feasts mentioned in this chapter the children of Israel are to observe.  These particular feasts are celebrated in the September-October timeframe each year.  Jesus was born in 2 B.C. at the time of Israel’s Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashana), which fell on September 29 that year. Two thousand years later is 1999 A.D. (Remember, since there is no year zero, two thousand years from 2 B.C. comes to 1999, rather than 1998 A.D.)

The Feast of Trumpets changes each year, much like Passover and Easter, because these are calculated according to a lunar calendar. And so, whereas the Feast of Trumpets fell on September 29 back in 2 B.C., it falls on September 11 in 1999 A.D. This is properly Jesus’ 2000th birthday according to the Hebrew calendar.  Thus Jesus’ birthday is celebrated each year by the blowing of trumpets by the children of Israel even though they are not fully aware of the implication established by FATHER for this time of celebration.

Luke wrote by THE SPIRIT in Luke chapter 1:

26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.

28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.

30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.

32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.

33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.

37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”

38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

When did Mary become pregnant?  By reckoning the the average length of human gestation being 280 days, or 40 weeks, Mary would have been overshadowed by The Holy Spirit on the evening of December 24th, 3 B.C.  According to the Hebrew day, this would have been December 25th (sundown to sundown).  Therefore, the whole world actually celebrates the miracle of Jesus being formed in the womb each year known as Christ-mas Day.  Therefore, everyone unknowingly honors the beginning of life in the womb occurring at conception by this global celebration.  Jesus was the ultimate gift of Love given to all of mankind and all the lights we see at Christmas are simply a reminder that the Light of the world is actually being celebrated whether people realize it or not.  Think about it and don’t be too tough on those who celebrate Christmas for the wrong reason for the season!  Enjoy the lights of celebration.
