Walking By THE SPIRIT

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Galatians chapter 5:

5  For we [not relying on the Law but] through the [strength and power of the Holy] Spirit, by faith, are waiting [confidently] for the hope of righteousness [the completion of our salvation].

6  For [if we are] in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but only faith activated and expressed and working through Agape Love.   AMPL

An outworking of The Holy Spirit in our life is expressed by walking in Agape Love toward others.  Some people will walk passively throughout life and fail to take the initiative to be a blessing to others.  It is as though they want everyone else to seek a relationship with them rather be active and seek the best for everyone with whom they come in contact.  You can sit by the phone all day and wait for someone to seek you out or you can go about doing good yourself and expressing Agape Love to those who are in need.  The greater will always compensate and minister to the weaker.

It is recorded in Matthew chapter 4:

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

Jesus Himself did not sit at the top of some mountain and wait for the crowds to seek out His ministry.  He went out!  It is further written in Matthew chapter 9:

35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Jesus spread The Gospel in an active manner.  Aren’t we called to spread The Gospel in the same manner?  Isn’t spreading Love an aspect of spreading The Gospel in its purest form?  Love is active in expressing Its intent and we will become more active as we walk in a greater revelation of Divine Love.  We will produce fruit to feed to those we encounter who may not realize they are in desperate need of the fruit we are dispensing.  We too will be moved with compassion toward those who are weary and scattered.  Is the current harvest of souls any less important than what Jesus saw when He walked the earth?  When we do nothing, we hinder the flow of The Holy Spirit through us toward others.  Sometimes, we need to “prime the pump” in order to initiate the flow through us.  The Holy Spirit awaits our decision to act in submission to the directives expressed by FATHER’S Dear Son when He said “Go into all the world”.
