His Divine Nature

Peter wrote by THE SPIRIT in his second epistle, chapter 1:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We have been given the revelation that we can be partaker of the same Divine nature as Our Lord Jesus Christ today.  This is why we can genuinely be called the Sons and Daughters of GOD.  His Divine power has bestowed on us absolutely everything necessary for us to live a dynamic spiritual life and Godliness.

We are to be partakers and walk according to His nature in our everyday lives now, not later.  FATHER has revealed to us the means by which we can walk in this manner by sending to us HIS Son as our perfect example.  Let us exalt no other than Our Lord Jesus Christ.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,

7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are to give all diligence which means “to make every effort”.  There is nothing casual about our calling to exercise our faith in the areas of virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, Godliness, kindness, and most of all… Love.  We are given the assurance that in making every effort in these areas, we will not be useless or unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

If we are blinded by our own lack of effort, then we stop the maturing process and become unfruitful.  This is clearly a warning against being shortsighted thus losing perspective of what it takes to arise to full maturity IN HIM.  How many have forgotten who they are in Christ and have returned to their old ways?

10 Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you [be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God]; for by doing these things [actively developing these virtues], you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth and will live a life that leads others away from sin];

11 for in this way entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided to you.   AMPL

As we are diligent in moving toward full maturity, our behavior will reflect our maturity and we will see Christ’s nature in us as evidenced by our fruitfulness for the Kingdom.  We are called to focus on the here and now rather than constantly focusing on future predictions and prophecies derived from man’s interpretation of Scripture and/or the multitude of signs.  Being Christ-like today changes men’s lives.  Jesus did not prophesy at the expense of ministering salvation and healing to the multitudes.  He focused on their needs thus confirming all of His Words.  He expressed Truth so that people would follow His example and walk according to The Way.

As Brother Eby eloquently stated:

The ministers of God were not meant to be soothsayers but truth-sayers. We were not called to predict all the changing events in the kingdoms of this world, not to herald a future antichrist, but to proclaim the ETERNAL PRESENT CHRIST!

Let us take on the nature of Christ and minister in a similar manner.  This is what mature Sons and Daughters do as they express the perfect Will of Our Heavenly Father.
