The 16th Generation

In the Book of Matthew, we are given a clue to the “anointed ones” or overcomers who will be given the power and authority to rule and reign in the coming age:

Matthew 1:17  So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
(14 x 3 = 42)

When we look at the “begats” however, we see 41 generations:

The next generation after Jesus is “Christ” or the anointed ones hence the 42nd generation.  Accordingly, there are sixteen generations from Josiah to Christ and Josiah is the focus of this writing.  Josiah is specifically tied to Love by the fact the the Christ is the sixteenth generation from Josiah.  The numbers in Scripture are always significant and often are subtle indications of Our Heavenly Father’s character and plan.

Josiah was the son of Amon (skilled craftsman) and Jedidah, succeeded his father B.C. 641, at the age of eight, and reigned 31 years. (2Kings22:1)  His mother’s name was Jedidah (beloved).  Josiah was nurtured in Love and his heart was directed towards Our Heavenly Father thus connected to David, the man after GOD’S own heart:

2Kings22:2 And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

When he was sixteen (Love): 2Ch 34:3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

The cleansing began when Josiah was 20 years old (redemption).  Once the purging was done, ten years after first seeking Our Heavenly Father, the repair of the House of the Lord began.

2 Ch 34:8   Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan (hidden) the son of Azaliah (Jehovah (Yahweh) has reserved (set apart)), and Maaseiah (the work of Jehovah) the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God.

34:9   When they came to Hilkiah (my portion is Jehovah) the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites who kept the doors had gathered from the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, from all the remnant of Israel, from all Judah and Benjamin, and which they had brought back to Jerusalem.

The some interesting things happened:

14  Now when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the LORD given by Moses. 15  Then Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, "I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD." And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan. 16  So Shaphan carried the book to the king, bringing the king word, saying, "All that was committed to your servants they are doing.17  And they have gathered the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers and the workmen."18  Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a book." And Shaphan read it before the king.

19  Thus it happened, when the king heard the words of the Law, that he tore his clothes. 20  Then the king commanded Hilkiah, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Abdon the son of MIcah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king, saying, 21  "Go, inquire of the LORD for me, and for those who are left in Israel and Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found; for greatis the wrath of the LORD that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do according to all that is written in this book."

The existing money in the Temple was removed and given to the workers.  This money had been received by those people of the Inheritance (Manasseh, Ephraim, the remnant, Judah, and Benjamin).  THE LAW was found and lawfulness was restored to the Kingdom.  The funding of the restoration had come through the inheritors.  Love restored the Kingdom.

In pondering 1/11/11 which happens to be connected to “the anointing”, the binary number 11111 represents 31.  Josiah reigned for 31 years and is also connected to Love by being the 16th generation from Christ (the anointed).  Could we see something noteworthy occur in the spiritual realm on 1/11/11?
