Yield to The Holy Spirit

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Galatians chapter 5:

16 As you yield freely and fully to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self – life. 17 For your self – life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your old self – life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self – life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit.

18 But when you are brought into the full freedom of the Spirit of grace, you will no longer be living under the domination of the law, but soaring above it!

We are given the direct solution to the flesh issue- yield to The Holy Spirit.  Can it be any plainer than this?  The two conflicting internal forces are totally incompatible thus your decision and actions determines which one you walk in.  As for me, I choose to yield to The Holy Spirit and disregard the cravings of “self”.  What are those cravings of “self”?  The Holy Spirit provides us a list:

19 The cravings of the self-life are obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, 20 chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, 21 being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior.

Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things will not inherit the kingdom realm of God!

Repent of whichever cravings you have been guilty of and allow The Holy Spirit to guide you into all Truth and when this happens, good fruit will begin to manifest in all areas of your life.  Paul lists these areas:

22–23 But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions:

joy that overflows,

peace that subdues,

patience that endures,

kindness in action,

a life full of virtue,

faith that prevails,

gentleness of heart, and

strength of spirit.

Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.

24 Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus, the Anointed One, have already experienced crucifixion. For everything connected with our self – life was put to death on the cross and crucified with Messiah. 25 We must live in the Holy Spirit and follow after him. 26 So may we never be arrogant, or look down on another, for each of us is an original. We must forsake all jealousy that diminishes the value of others.

If you truly believe Psalm 139:16 where each of us has a Divine book written about us before we were formed in the womb, you must not allow jealousy to come forth toward others.  They are special to FATHER just as you and I are special.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 8:

9 But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life, you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of him.

10 Now Christ lives his life in you! And even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, his life-giving Spirit imparts life to you because you are fully accepted by God. 11 Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!

That same SPIRIT lives in each of us and is restoring our dying bodies… think about it.  We must walk in faith as we embrace this passage.  Dwell on it night and day until it becomes fruitful in your life.

Isaiah wrote by The Holy Spirit in chapter 57:

15 For thus says the High and Lofty One

Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:

“I dwell in the high and holy place,

With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,

To revive the spirit of the humble,

And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

When we discover how insufficient we are without FATHER’S presence, we will become humble and contrite.  Those who think they don’t need GOD in their lives are in for a rude awakening.  At some point, everyone will experience the High and Lofty One.  It is our choice when we have that experience.  Purpose every day to yield to The Holy Spirit in all things.
