Imitate Him

In order for you and I to have a supernatural ministry toward others, we must have a supernatural and intimate relationship with THE FATHER, Son, and Holy Spirit as a foundation.  We must have an intimacy beyond what has been preached in the past.  Many had the anointing but without the foundation of intimacy and they ultimately “crashed and burned”.  In Matthew chapter 7, Jesus spoke:

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

Someone who is intimate with Christ will not practice lawlessness.  In Acts chapter 1, Jesus had spent forty days preparing the disciples to have a relationship with The Holy Spirit.  He spoke:

8  “But you shall receive power when (after) the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The Beloved Disciple wrote by The Holy Spirit in John chapter 1:

12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become Sons of GOD, to those who believe in HIS Name

We must understand our sonship through Jesus Christ.  This is our state of who we are versus what we do.  We are to be imitators of GOD as Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 5:

1   Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as his beloved sons and daughters.

Our intimate relationship with FATHER will result in empowerment to properly represent HIM to the world.  Signs and wonders shall follow us as we minister in this fallen world.

Jesus responded to the devil and He spoke in Matthew chapter 4:

4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

When we “imitate” Christ, we want to fully and complete walk according to every Word that proceeds from FATHER, without exception.  If we couldn’t do that, Jesus would not have expressed it when He responded to the devil.  We have the sufficiency in Christ to walk as He walked or else we would not be able to do greater works.  In Matthew chapter 28, Jesus spoke:

18 Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All the authority of the universe has been given to me. 19 Now go in my authority and make disciples (mathēteuō) of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 20 And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.”

The word “mathēteuō” means to become a student and walk with the teacher resulting in you thinking like the teacher, talking like the teacher, and acting like the teacher.  Only those with an intimate relationship will walk in this fruitful walk.  You and I have been Divinely appointed to walk in this manner.  This is what it means to be under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians chapter 11:

1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ must be at the forefront of our daily lives.  If we think like Jesus, talk like Jesus, and act like Jesus, we will have a relationship with FATHER like Jesus resulting in a ministry like Jesus.

Finally, as Hebrews chapter 12 states:

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

From beginning to end, let us imitate Jesus Christ in every aspect of our being.
