The Handicapped Woman

When Jesus spoke, He transferred the reality of Heaven to earth.  This is why we need to focus on the Words of Jesus and The Holy Spirit.

Luke (the “physician”) recorded by The Holy Spirit in chapter 13:

10 One Sabbath day, while Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, 11 He encountered a seriously handicapped woman. She was crippled and had been doubled over for eighteen years. Her condition was caused by a demonic spirit of bondage that had left her unable to stand up straight.

12–13 When Jesus saw her condition, He called her over and gently laid his hands on her. Then He said, “Dear woman, you are free. I release you forever from this crippling spirit.” Instantly she stood straight and tall and overflowed with glorious praise to God!

Jesus Loved this woman and was quick to release her from the demon who had plagued her for eighteen long years.  Where did He find her?  In the synagogue.  I am sure she was seeking THE LORD and hoped for HIS intervention… her day arrived.  The demon did not keep her from attending to her faith.

If we are to truly ascend to fully mature Sons and Daughters, we must be willing to pray and fast in a greater degree than most believers.  This is a requirement to walk in the same empowerment as Jesus walked.  Our mindsets must shift away from past teachings of passivity causing us to think that FATHER will do it all while we simply sit around and do nothing.  This is EXACTLY what demons want us to do… nothing, and false teachers have promoted this mindset.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Colossians chapter 2:

8 Beware that no one distracts you or intimidates you in their attempt to lead you away from Christ’s fullness by pretending to be full of wisdom when they’re filled with endless arguments of human logic. For they operate with humanistic and clouded judgments based on the mindset of this world system, and not the anointed Truths of the Anointed One.

Additionally in Philippians chapter 2:

4 Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. 5 And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let His mindset become your motivation.

We must not take these words lightly.  In order to walk like Jesus, we must have the same mindset as Jesus.  He did not spend 3 ½ years sitting around and doing nothing.  As it is written by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 10:

38  God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

The woman above was being oppressed by the devil and Jesus healed her by removing the demon from her midst.  She wasn’t demon possessed, she was demon oppressed.  Yes, demons have no problem in attending “church” services.

Dealing with demons was and is a notable portion of Jesus’ ministry on this earth thus we must not disregard this aspect of ministry if we are to walk in the same mindset as Jesus.  If you are afraid of demons, your mindset must change.  Jesus never backed down from the devil or demons for He knew His authority over them.  He had no misguided teachings to hinder Him.

Our lives must be saturated with the presence of God through prayer and fasting in order to conquer the evil that is in the world and hiding in the hearts of mankind.  How many leaders of the church had encountered the woman for those eighteen long years yet had no clue of how to minister to her?  Selah.
