The Name Of Jesus

The Name of Jesus is the most powerful name on earth and the world will attempt to remove this Reference every chance they get.  However, it does not change or reduce the power associated with His Name.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 2:

6 Jesus existed in the form of GOD, yet He gave no thought to seizing equality with GOD as His supreme prize. 7 Instead He emptied Himself of His outward glory by reducing Himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became human! 8 He humbled himself and became vulnerable, choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient. He was a perfect example, even in his death—a criminal’s death by crucifixion!

9 Because of that obedience, God exalted Him and multiplied his greatness! He has now been given the greatest of all names!

10 The authority of the Name of Jesus causes every knee to bow in reverence! Everything and everyone will one day submit to this Name—in the Heavenly realm, in the earthly realm, and in the demonic realm. 11 And every tongue will proclaim in every language: “Jesus Christ is Lord Yahweh,” bringing glory and honor to God, His Father!

The disciples understood the power and authority in the Name of Jesus thus they relied on this Truth as they expanded the Kingdom of GOD on the earth.  We should embrace this means and do the same.  We must not allow ourselves to treat the Name of Jesus as commonplace in our mindset but instead He should be held in the highest regard at all times.

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2:

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

Consider the immediate change among those three thousand people as they saw many signs and wonders done through the apostles.  They entered into unity and without hesitancy; they became generous givers to ensure no one among them had any need.  This is an indication of true unity based on Agape Love.

Luke also recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 3:

1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Peter exercised the healing power and authority of the Name of Jesus and healed the man who was lame from birth.  No one could dispute this healing and its source.  The people were truly amazed which impacted their mindset thus they now had to deal with their past assumptions concerning the Name of Jesus.

Peter stated “We didn’t make this crippled man walk by our own power or authority.”  He then explained “Faith in Jesus’ Name has healed this man standing before you. It is the faith that comes through believing in Jesus’ Name that has made the crippled man walk right in front of your eyes!”

In Acts chapter 4, Luke also recorded by The Holy Spirit:

23 And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said:

‘Why did the nations rage,

And the people plot vain things?

26 The kings of the earth took their stand,

And the rulers were gathered together

Against the LORD and against His Christ.’

27 “For truly against Your Holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your Hand and Your Purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your Word, 30 by stretching out Your Hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the Name of Your holy Servant Jesus.

31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

The Holy Spirit responded to the Name of Jesus and was imparted to all who were assembled together.  The place they were at literally shook in response.  Boldness to speak the Word of God was imparted to them, removing any reluctance or reservation they previously had experienced.  Once again, we see that they were in unity as they received this impartation from The Holy Spirit.  Such unity is a key to Kingdom expansion.

In Acts chapter 16, Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit, Paul’s encounter with a demon-possessed slave girl:

16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many days.

But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the Name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

The Name of Jesus brings forth salvation.  The Name of Jesus brings forth healing.  The Name of Jesus brings forth deliverance.  The Name of Jesus brings forth true unity.  The Name of Jesus brings forth expansion of the Kingdom of GOD on the earth.  The Name of Jesus brings forth a confirming response from The Holy Spirit.

“FATHER,

Empower us, as your servants, to speak the Word of God freely and courageously.  Stretch out YOUR Hand of power through us to heal, and to move in signs and wonders by the Name of YOUR Holy Son, Jesus!”  Amen!
