The Teachable Heart

We are meant to have boundaries and discipline in walking out our Divine destiny and we must have a teachable heart.  Past doctrines in our mindset must be assessed to determine whether they are wrong and in error according to the deep mysteries of GOD’S Kingdom realm.  The Holy Spirit will have no issue in revealing those inaccurate past doctrines if you have a teachable heart.  As for me, I simply want to walk in Absolute Truth.  My past opinions are now of no value and I do not seek to develop new ones as I pursue the Kingdom of GOD.

After speaking forth the parable of the soils in the heart, Jesus spoke to His disciples in Luke chapter 8:

9 Later His disciples came to Jesus and asked him privately what deeper meaning was found in this parable. 10 He said, “You have been given a teachable heart to perceive the secret, hidden mysteries of God’s Kingdom realm. But to those who don’t have a listening heart, My Words are merely stories. Even though they have eyes, they are blind to the true meaning of what I say, and even though they listen, they won’t receive full revelation.”

What was the problem with the unwise virgins?  They HAD TO RELY on the wise virgins since they had become slack in their pursuit of The Kingdom.  They had not relied on The Holy Spirit and when the time had come, it was too late for them.  The wise virgins could not help them make up for this lost time of pursuing the deeper mysteries.  Why do you think FATHER has had me write nearly 4,000 blogs through this site?

Part of my Divine destiny was and is to teach as evidenced since the late 1970’s.  In fact, when I taught the “young married couples” on the Sons of GOD revelation found in the Gospel of John in the mid-1990’s, I was confronted by the church leadership.  After the third rejection of this revelation, FATHER had my family depart.  This began a 10 year period of preparation for the current teaching of Agape Love.  As you can appreciate, FATHER does not get in a hurry.  Clearly, HE worked on my patience!

For some reason, HE utilizes the “decade timeframe” with me.  I may be a little slow compared to many of the readers. 🙂 However, I would not change a thing and am grateful for HIS maturing process in my life.  It is not how you start, but how you finish the race.

Mark recorded by The Holy Spirit in chapter 9:

1 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the Truth, there are some standing here now who won’t experience death until they see God’s Kingdom realm manifest with power!”

2 After six days, Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, Jacob and John, and hiked up a high mountain to be alone. And Jesus’ appearance was dramatically altered, for He was transfigured before their very eyes! 3 His clothing sparkled and became glistening white—whiter than any bleach in the world could make them. 4 Then suddenly, right in front of them, Moses and Elijah appeared, and they spoke with Jesus.

5 Peter blurted out, “Beautiful Teacher, this is so amazing to see the three of you together! Why don’t we stay here and set up three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah?” 6 (For all of the disciples were in total fear, and Peter didn’t have a clue what to say.) 7 Just then, a radiant cloud began to spread over them, enveloping them all. And God’s voice suddenly spoke from the cloud, saying, “This is MY most dearly Loved Son—always listen to Him!

FATHER spoke directly to the three disciples and gave them explicit orders to listen and pay close attention to the Words of Jesus.  Can there be any misunderstanding in what FATHER said?  The three disciples were awestruck by the supernatural event and had no clue of how to respond.  They enjoyed the experience but it did not immediately change their hearts.

What happened afterward?  The adversary was causing controversy as Jesus and the three disciples were returning from a most glorious event.  Distraction is a primary weapon of the demons and none of the disciples were yet responding to the Words of Jesus.

9 As they all hiked down the mountain together, Jesus ordered them, “Don’t tell anyone of what you just witnessed. Wait until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.” 10 So they kept it to themselves, puzzled over what Jesus meant about rising from the dead.

11 Then they asked him, “Why do the religious scholars insist that Elijah must come before the Messiah?”

12 He answered them, “They’re right. Elijah must come first to put everything in order. And what about all that is written about the Son of Man? It is true that He must endure many sufferings and be rejected. 13 So Elijah has already appeared, just as it was prophesied, and they did to him whatever they pleased.”

Jesus revealed to those disciples His anticipated death and resurrection and their hearts were not able to discern His Words for they were puzzled.  We look back and marvel at their unbelief and doubt.  Their experience did not change them for they had no discernment.  In effect, they were entertained by the event.

14 Now when they came down the mountain to the other nine disciples, they noticed a large crowd of people gathered around them, with the religious scholars arguing with them. 15 The crowd was astonished to see Jesus Himself walking toward them, so they immediately ran to welcome Him.

16 “What are you arguing about with the religious scholars?” He asked them.

17 A man spoke up out of the crowd. “Teacher,” he said, “I have a son possessed by a demon that makes him mute. I brought him here to You, Jesus. 18 Whenever the demon takes control of him, it knocks him down, and he foams at the mouth and gnashes his teeth, and his body becomes stiff as a board. I brought him to Your disciples, hoping they could deliver him, but they were not strong enough.”

19 Jesus said to the crowd, “Why are you such a faithless people?  How much longer must I remain with you and put up with your unbelief? Now, bring the boy to me.”

Our hearts must be changed until we are fully aligned with the Word of GOD.  We must set apart whatever distractions are set before us.  In the U.S., the masses are focused on entertainment in some form and the adversary is more than willing to oblige.  Interactive games, 24 hour TV with a multitude of channels and topics are meant to distract us from the Words of Jesus along with the power and authority associated with those Words.

The adversary creates a need and then provides a worldly solution to that need.   A faithless generation falls into that trap and looks to the world for answers rather than The Word Who was made flesh and dwelt among us.  The Holy Spirit was given to us to enable us to discern such entrapments.

Think about the current pandemic and the world’s solution to it.  Would Jesus respond to this pandemic by wearing a mask, socially distance, and give His body to a vaccine with no true testing history?  Knowing Him, He would respond “How much longer must I remain with you and put up with your unbelief?”

We MUST change and come to full maturity.  More entertainment will not increase our maturity.  We must discern the condition of our hearts and continue to change and correct our priorities.  FATHER gave the three disciples explicit instructions and we are meant to respond to HIS directive as well.

Jesus confronted the situation with the demon-possessed boy.

25 Now when Jesus saw that the crowd was quickly growing larger, He commanded the demon, saying, “Deaf and mute spirit, I command you to come out of him and never enter him again!”

26 The demon shrieked and threw the boy into terrible seizures and finally came out of him! As the boy lay there, looking like a corpse, everyone thought he was dead. 27 But Jesus stooped down, gently took his hand, and raised him up to his feet, and he stood there completely set free!

28 Afterwards, when Jesus arrived at the house, his disciples asked Him in private, “Why couldn’t we cast out the demon?”

29 He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.”

The nine disciples were unprepared.  The three returning disciples were also ill-equipped to deal with the demon.  Jesus gave us the answer to dealing with the kingdom of darkness and it takes serious commitment.  This is the answer to the adversary’s attempts to keep us in bondage to his devices.  This is all out war and we must be vigilant and not allow the distractions to keep us from our Divine destiny.  We must not allow ourselves to be denied.  Press in!
