Our Words

James wrote by The Holy Spirit in his Epistle, chapter 3:

3 My dear brothers and sisters, don’t be so eager to become a teacher in the church since you know that we who teach are held to a higher standard of judgment. 2 We all fail in many areas, but especially with our words. Yet if we’re able to bridle the words we say we are powerful enough to control ourselves in every way, and that means our character is mature and fully developed.

The words we speak have much power over our relationships, paths, fruitfulness, and progress toward full maturity.  We must tame our tongue and only promote life and fruitfulness in all areas.  Unless FATHER directs you to speak judgment over an individual, it is simply better to remain silent until Agape Love prevails in the conversation.  Our tongue needs to be fully subjected to The Holy Spirit in all areas as it was with Jesus when He walked the earth.

3 Horses have bits and bridles in their mouths so that we can control and guide their large body. 4 And the same with mighty ships, though they are massive and driven by fierce winds, yet they are steered by a tiny rudder at the direction of the person at the helm.

5 And so the tongue is a small part of the body yet it carries great power! Just think of how a small flame can set a huge forest ablaze. 6 And the tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is a hellish flame! It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.

There is much destructive potential with our words and we must heed the warning given to us by The Holy Spirit in the above verses.  When we pray in The Holy Spirit, our words are in perfect harmony with The Holy Spirit and we are praying forth eternity in our lives.  Demonic forces are unable to intervene in our prayers and they are unable to impact our words which are meant to promote life and restoration.

7 For every wild animal on earth including birds, creeping reptiles, and creatures of the sea and land have all been overpowered and tamed by humans, 8 but the tongue is not able to be tamed. It’s a fickle, unrestrained evil that spews out words full of toxic poison! 9 We use our tongue to praise God our Father and then turn around and curse a person who was made in his very image! 10 Out of the same mouth we pour out words of praise one minute and curses the next. My brothers and sister, this should never be!

11–12 Would you look for olives hanging on a fig tree or go to pick figs from a grapevine? Is it possible that fresh and bitter water can flow out of the same spring? So neither can a bitter spring produce fresh water.

James provides us with a confirmation of why it is so important to pray in Tongues.  When we do, we are guarding against praying with words containing “toxic poison” thus agreeing with the adversary.  It is better to say nothing than to speak such toxic words.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 5:

5 Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as His beloved Sons and Daughters. 2 And continue to walk surrendered to the extravagant Love of Christ, for He surrendered His life as a sacrifice for us. His great Love for us was pleasing to God, like an aroma of adoration—a sweet healing fragrance.

Can you imagine FATHER speaking Words HE did not mean?  Can you imagine FATHER speaking Words of destruction over us?  Every Word which proceeds out of HIS Mouth comes to pass thus HE watches over every Word!  So should we.  Let us not take our spoken words lightly but watch over them as HE does.

When we pray in THE SPIRIT, our wills become merged with HIS thus we begin to see life and restoration occurring around us.  This is known as good fruit.  We see blessings in all that we set our hands to and no longer see scarcity prevailing in any area.   The mindset of THE SPIRIT takes over the mindset of the carnal man.  When this happens, our spirits go from glory to glory.  Let us promote this expected maturity as we carefully watch over our words.
