I shared a Crest (food) card and a Target card with a single mother of 4 whose husband passed away prior to Thanksgiving. She is having to work for the first time in her life to provide for the family. She was in tears when I handed her the cards and so very appreciative.
I have used a Target card to buy a coat for a 4th-grade girl who told her teacher she did not have a coat for this season. She only had hoodies and she was going to be cold.
I have used 4 Target cards to provide Christmas for a family that needed Christmas this year but had no other way to provide it. Both of the boys lost their father to suicide two years ago. Their mother has been struggling to provide for them but was able to secure a job this school year.
