Our Minds: Part 20

Who do you identify with in your mind?

Paul wrote by the Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 5:

1  Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and HE now declares us flawless in HIS Eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.

FATHER sees you flawless, do you?  Once our mind-set has changed, we will see ourselves as FATHER does.

2 Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!

Our spirit has permanent access to the perfect relationship with FATHER.  Our old man is dead so let’s no longer associate with it.  We are NOT sinners saved by grace, but we are a new man, the old man has passed away.

15Now, there is no comparison between Adam’s transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime. It’s true that many died because of one man’s transgression, but how much greater will God’s grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflow to many because of what one Man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us!

16 And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God— acquitted with the words “Not guilty!”

17 Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!

Do you see yourself reigning as a king?  If not, why?  It is because your mind-set has not been fully transformed as walking in the new man.  Previously, you were taught otherwise so let us all unlearn what we were taught beforehand and accept the Truth and reality of who we are in Christ!  As we do our circumstances will change for the better… wherever we are individually.

Paul continues by the Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 6:

Could it be any clearer that our former identity is now and forever deprived of its power? For we were co-crucified with Jesus to dismantle the stronghold of sin within us, so that we would not continue to live one moment longer submitted to sin’s power.

We decide to whom we submit for we are no longer enslaved by sin.  We have been freed from sin so we need to start walking in a “free” state.  If your charges have been dropped and the jail door has been opened, it is up to you to walk out the door as a free person.

7 Obviously, a dead person is incapable of sinning.

8 And if we were co-crucified with the Anointed One, we know that we will also share in the fullness of His Life.

9 And we know that since the Anointed One has been raised from the dead to die no more, His resurrection Life has vanquished death and its power over Him is finished.

10 For by His sacrifice He died to sin’s power once and for all, but He now lives continuously for the Father’s pleasure.

11 So let it be the same way with you! Since you are now joined with Him, you must continually view yourselves as dead and unresponsive to sin’s appeal while living daily for God’s pleasure in union with Jesus, the Anointed One.

Your old man is dead so when you sin it is due to your unrenewed mind-set in the realization of who you really are in Christ.  As we renew our minds in The Word, we will no longer walk based on what the past dictated.  Instead, we will accept our kingship given to us by FATHER’S grace and Our Lord’s sacrifice… once and for all!
