The Purpose Of GOD’S Power

Thursday, June 15th, 2023

What is the purpose of God’s power in our lives?

The purpose of God’s power in our lives is to come alongside us and help us learn three things:

1) how to be sanctified,

2) how to partake of Christ’s Life, and

3) how to become those overcomers (faithful ones) who bear righteous fruit.

Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Peter chapter 1:

5  Through our faith, the mighty power of God constantly guards us until our full salvation is ready to be revealed in the last time.

His power not only gives us a new spirit when we are born again, but His power also produces a transformed life through the sanctification process.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 3:

14  So I kneel humbly in awe before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah,

15 the perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth.

16 And I pray that He would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His Divine might and explosive power.

“Unveiling” means that it is already there!  Our innermost being can and should be operating in HIS Divine might and power.

17 Then, by constantly using your faith, the Life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his Love will become the very source and root of your life.

Walking in Agape Love is essential to walking in HIS Power.

18-19 Then you will be empowered to discover what every Holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing Love of Christ in all Its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His Love! How enduring and inclusive It is! Endless Love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant Love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!

20 Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you.

Fear not!  Doubt not!  His power enables us to do what His Word demands.  The Holy Spirit is the Enabler, the Executor, and the Implementor of God’s will being accomplished in our lives. Our responsibility is simply to make the choice to let Him do so! It’s really a partnership. We offer our bodies as a “living sacrifice,” God then fills us with His Spirit and accomplishes His will through us

Paul also wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:

1  Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be His Sacred, living sacrifices. And live in Holiness, experiencing all that delights His Heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.

2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His Eyes.

The people who depend upon this power, partake of it, share it, and allow it to produce fruit are the people who not only will be able to enter into the Millennial Kingdom, but also to rule and reign there as well.

Christ is our Perfect Example!  As the son of man, He lived His life on earth depending upon this power.  The Holy Spirit empowered Him to do all His miraculous acts.  As a result, He nullified the power of the devil and freed those held in bondage.  We are meant to do the same with the power we have been given, and to give ALL the glory to Jesus Christ.

FATHER’S Unrivaled Power

Wednesday, June 14th, 2023

God is unequaled in power.  He has no rivals!

Our Lord God Almighty sustains everything in the universe by His Hand of power. In other words, all He has to do is speak His will and His power will then accomplish it (Psalm 33:9). For example, He formed the mountains by His power. He divided the seas by His power. He divided the light from the darkness by His power (Genesis 1:4). He created man by His power (Genesis 1:26). And He will quicken the dead and call them to life by His power (Romans 4:17).

Jude wrote by The Holy Spirit:

25 to the only God our Savior, through our Lord Jesus Christ, be endless glory and majesty, great power and authority—from before HE created time, now, and throughout all the ages of eternity. Amen!

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 1:

3 The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s True Nature—His mirror Image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of His spoken Word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest Throne at the Right Hand of the Majestic One.

Therefore, GOD is the source of all power!

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 28:

18 Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to Me.”

When Jesus walked the earth, the Romans were in control of Jerusalem, an occupying army.  Yet Jesus did nothing to confront them.  Why?  Their occupation was not the issue, men’s hearts were!

Paul wrote by the revelation given to him by The Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ Himself in Romans chapter 13:

1  Every person must submit to and support the authorities over him. For there can be no authority in the universe except by God’s appointment, which means that every authority that exists has been instituted by God.

2 So to resist authority is to resist the Divine order of God, which results in severe consequences.

3 For civil authorities don’t intimidate those who are doing good, but those who are doing evil. So do what is right and you’ll never need to fear those in authority. They will commend you for your good citizenship.

The zealots were disappointed when Jesus did not confront the Romans who occupied Israel.  He had a high calling that they failed to see until His resurrection.  We must resist the temptation to challenge the current political situation with soulish motivations.  The enemy wants to redirect our focus away from our individual callings.

Moses wrote by THE SPIRIT in Deuteronomy chapter 8:

18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Wealth not only means finances but also includes other resources such as strength, ability, efficiency, etc.  It allows us to overpower any obstacle confronting us, attempting to prevent our success in our calling.

An excellent example of performing the impossible is the story of Abraham and Sarah who were well past their child-bearing years.  What was FATHER’S reply?

Moses recorded by THE SPIRIT in Genesis chapter 18:

14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

And Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in chapter 1:

37   “For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Do you really believe that nothing is impossible for Our Heavenly Father?  If you do, then it is not HIS lack of power when we are not overcoming obstacles, it is ours.  It is clear we are missing something as overcomers.

There are hundreds of examples of God’s power in action.  Christianity is simply the manifestation of Divine power in the presence of human weakness.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 3:

10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

In other Words:

And I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus and to experience the overflowing power of His resurrection already working in me. I will be One with Him in his sufferings and become like him in his death.

We already have this power resident in us as believers.  The issue is how to access this power for His Glory!

The Fruit of the Partaker

Tuesday, June 13th, 2023

What should be the result of being a partaker and living Christ’s Life in you?

Once we die to self, then God’s Life—His Thoughts and His Love— can come forth and produce “fruit.” This is called “walking or being led by the Spirit” and can only occur when we are cleansed and sanctified vessels.  The moment-by-moment surrender of our self-life will empower us to become cleansed vessels producing fruit.  As long as we don’t quench THE SPIRIT, we will move upward and onward.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 1:

9  And this I pray, that your Love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the Day of Christ,

11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

The Greek word for fruit is karpos (Strong’s #2590), which means “that which is produced by the Spirit of God in us.”  Fruit comes from sanctification, through deliverance from a life of sin and self, and the subsequent filling and empowering of the Holy Spirit.  Our work is our fruit, and our fruit is the product of our lives.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 15:

1  “I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.

2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

3 You are already clean because of the Word which I have spoken to you.

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the Vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Keep in mind that the word “abide” denotes “life-union”.  Agape Love is the pure motivation for bearing fruit.  Agape is an unconditional, one-sided, and freeing Love, in contrast to human love, which is conditional, and two-sided, meaning it must be returned in order to be kept alive.

Jesus also spoke in John 13:

35  For when you demonstrate the same Love I have for you by Loving one another, everyone will know that you’re My true followers.”

In order to truly embrace the message of Agape, we must personally know how much God Loves us. Only then will we be able to totally relinquish our lives back to Him and trust Him not only with our present circumstances, but also with our future.  Why do you think FATHER has had me write three books on Agape Love?  It was not only for my benefit but yours as well.

You can now download this book from Amazon for 99 cents (the minimum):

The essence of Agape Love is the giving of ourselves for another. Jesus did this for us and this is the example He has left for us to follow. “Greater Love has no man but to lay his life down for his friend” (John 15:13). Love is not only essential for this life, but it is also the criteria for ruling and reigning with Christ in the future Kingdom.

Make The Exchange

Monday, June 12th, 2023

Are you ready to die to “self” and rise up to living Christ’s Life in you?

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 16:

24  Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If you truly want to follow Me, you should at once completely reject and disown your own life (die to self). And you must be willing to share My cross and experience it as your own, as you continually surrender to My ways.

25 For if you choose self-sacrifice and lose your lives for My glory, you will continually discover true Life. But if you choose to keep your lives for yourselves, you will forfeit what you try to keep.

26 For even if you were to gain all the wealth and power of this world—at the cost of your own life—what good would that be? And what could be more valuable to you than your own soul?

27 I, the Son of Man, will one day return with My messengers and in the splendor and majesty of My Father. And then I will reward each person according to what they have done.

Notice that Jesus said, “What you have done”, not “Who you are”.

When our self-life is replaced with Christ’s Life, it is called “the exchanged life,” “the shared life,” or “the imparted life.” We must exchange our love for His Love.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 3:

17  Then, by constantly using your faith, the Life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of His Love will become the very Source and Root of your life.

As we become partakers OF Christ, we exchange our wisdom for His Wisdom, our strength for His strength, our faith for His strength, our joy for His joy, our peace, etc. It is Christ’s Eternal Life, but because we are open and cleansed vessels, we can now partake of It, share It, and live It.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Galatians chapter 2:

20  I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the Life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who Loved me and gave Himself for me.

In other Words:

My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new Life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives His Life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God Who Loves me so much that He gave Himself for me, dispensing His Life into mine!

We are like common clay jars that carry this Glorious Treasure within, so that this immeasurable power will be seen as God’s, not ours.

This exchange of life, however, does not happen automatically. In order to live Christ’s Life, we must not only be cleansed vessels (sanctified), but we must also have childlike faith. By faith, we choose to give God our hurts, our bitterness, our insecurities, our unforgiveness (any self-life that has quenched His Spirit in us) and in exchange, He gives us His Life—His power and His Love.

Jesus spoke in John chapter 12:

25“The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true Life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to Me, will find true Life and enjoy it forever!

26 If you want to be My disciple, follow Me and you will go where I am going. And if you truly follow me as My disciple, the Father will shower His favor upon your life.”

It is your choice!

Becoming a Partaker OF Christ

Sunday, June 11th, 2023

Become a partaker of the inheritance of Christ!

Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in his 2nd Epistle, chapter 1:

2  Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

3 as His Divine power has given to us all things that pertain to Life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The word partake (Strong’s #2844, koinonos and #3353, metochos) means “to be a participant of something, a sharer in something, or a carrier of something.

Also, Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Colossians 1:

9  For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all Wisdom and Spiritual understanding;

10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

12 giving thanks to the Father Who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His Love,

14 in Whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Partaking of Christ’s Life means not only receiving His Life in our hearts when we are born again, but also living that Life out in our souls. Partaking of His Life is what empowers us to become overcomers, the faithful ones who produce “fruit.” It means that the Life of Christ is not only living in us but is now being lived out through us. His Life has filled us, and the Holy Spirit is now empowering us.

Further, Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 12:

7   If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of Spirits and live?

10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His Holiness.

11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

It is vital that you understand that being a partaker of Christ is not the same thing as being a partaker in Christ. The former is “experiential” whereas the latter is “positional.”

Partaking of His Life results in becoming those overcomers whom Jesus refers to in the Book of Revelation as ruling and reigning with Him in the Millennium. It is Christ’s overcoming Life––His Agape Love, His supernatural power, and His Divine Wisdom. Overcomers are simply partaking of that Life. They are Loving with His Love, depending upon His strength, and making decisions through His Wisdom.

These are the faithful believers who will be Christ’s co-heirs in His future Kingdom!

Don’t Be Devastated!

Saturday, June 10th, 2023

Jesus spoke two parables back-to-back in Matthew chapter 25: The Parable of Wise and Foolish Virgins and, The Parable of the Talents.  The first looks at and judges the inner condition (inner life) whereas the second looks at and judges the fruitfulness of your works (outer life).

Many have only been born again but have not totally surrendered their lives to Christ. They have been delivered from the penalty of sin (justification), but not from the bondage of sin (sanctification). And that’s going to affect one’s place, our position, and our inheritance in the coming Kingdom.

Having a Kingdom perspective here and now is of the utmost importance. It will affect every choice you and I make, determine every decision we come to, and influence every action we take.

Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in his 2nd Epistle, chapter 3:

10  The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night and take everyone by surprise. The atmosphere will be set on fire and vanish with a horrific roar, and the heavenly bodies will melt away as in a tremendous blaze. The earth and every activity of man will be laid bare.

11 Since all these things are on the verge of being dismantled, don’t you see how vital it is to live a Holy life? We must be consumed with godliness

12 while we anticipate and help to speed up the coming of the Day of God, when the atmosphere will be set on fire and the heavenly bodies consumed in a blaze.

13 But as we wait, we trust in God’s royal proclamation to be fulfilled. There are coming heavens new in quality, and an earth new in quality, where righteousness will be fully at home.

14 So, my Beloved friends, with all that you have to look forward to, may you be eager to be found living pure lives when you come into His presence, without blemish and filled with peace.

15 And keep in mind that our Lord’s extraordinary patience simply means more opportunity for salvation, just as our dear brother Paul wrote to you with the Wisdom that God gave him.

A Kingdom perspective will continually remind us that we are preparing our wedding garments now for what we are going to wear there!

Imagine the devastation we would feel if the Lord turned to us at the entrance to the wedding ceremony and said, “I’m sorry, but you are not ready; you are not prepared. You are not qualified to enter. I simply don’t know you.” And then He would shut the door.

The salvation of our spirits (our justification) is a free gift and there is nothing more we need to do to receive it, other than simply accept it. Entering the Marriage Ceremony, attending the Marriage Feast and inheriting the kingdom, however, is another matter. It only comes with endurance, perseverance, suffering, and personal crucifixion.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 3:

12  Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind (as Wise Virgins with sufficient oil).

Extra oil denotes “Spiritual preparation.” Because the foolish virgins had none, they had to remain behind. Works done by one person cannot be credited to another. Each of us must personally and daily be filled with God’s Spirit, in order to produce our own good work and earn our own reward. An extra oil supply simply means we are Spiritually prepared.

Don’t be devastated at Christ’s return, be prepared!

Am I Single-Minded?

Friday, June 9th, 2023

Will Jesus recognize us for the wedding party?

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 25:

11 Later, the five foolish virgins came running up to the door and pleaded, ‘Lord, Lord, let us come in!’

12 “But He called back, ‘Go away! Do I know you? I can assure you, I don’t even know you!’

13 “That is the reason you should always stay awake and be alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour when the Bridegroom will appear.”

The Greek word used in here for know is oida (Strong’s #1492), which means to “know intimately, to see, or to perceive.” The Lord was saying to the five foolish virgins: “I don’t know you intimately; we don’t have a close relationship. If we did, you would have obeyed Me.”  In other words, He was saying, “You were not a partaker or a sharer of My Life—My power, My Love. There was no fellowship between us. I know you only by observation.”

The five foolish virgins in this parable obviously are in Heaven i.e. they are believers. But because they didn’t know Him intimately (they weren’t intimately acquainted with His character, His person, His attributes), He didn’t let them in to the wedding. They were not qualified or worthy (axios) to enter.

If we are sanctified and partaking of His Life, we’ll have intimacy (oida) with Christ and good fruit will result. If we are not faithful and we aren’t partaking of His Life, then we won’t know Him intimately, nor will any good fruit be produced.

All ten virgins in this parable represent born-again, Bible-believing, Christian believers preparing themselves for passage into glory. The word virgin means “unmarried, undefiled, clean, chaste, and pure.”  Unbelievers are not virgins.  This means that all ten virgins had on “Christ’s garment of salvation” mentioned in Isaiah 61:10. This is the robe of righteousness that got them into Heaven in the first place. They were all followers of Christ and they all went out to meet Him, which showed their belief in the blessed hope. They all took their lamps and they all, at one time, had oil in them.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 1st Thessalonians chapter 5:

15  See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

16 Rejoice always,

17 pray without ceasing,

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

19  Never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.

20 And don’t be one who scorns prophecies,

21 but be faithful to examine them by putting them to the test, and afterward hold tightly to what has proven to be right.

22 Avoid every appearance of evil.

23 Now, may the God of peace and harmony set you apart, making you completely Holy. And may your entire being—spirit, soul, and body—be kept completely flawless in the appearing of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways  (James 1:8)

But because the five foolish virgins did not maintain their faithfulness and their watchfulness to the very end, the oil in their lamps ran out and they ended up with no light. Over a period of time, they quenched God’s Spirit in their hearts, which stopped their intimate fellowship with Him and caused the light in their lives to go out. Thus, they became foolish and double-minded and they walked in darkness.

A double-minded believer lives two lives: God’s Life and “self-life.” God’s quenched, “self-life” is ruling in his soul. Thus, when we are double-minded, it’s impossible to partake of Christ’s life Consequently, rather than overcoming the world, the flesh, and the devil, this believer is overtaken by the same. This believer does not produce fruit or works of righteousness. As a result, this double-minded believer will become foolish.

It’s too late for the five foolish virgins to acquire the character traits and the faithful perseverance that’s needed for an entrance to the wedding. They were not prepared, not fit, and not worthy of entering.

Our Preparedness

Thursday, June 8th, 2023

Each of us is responsible for our own preparedness.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 5:

27 All that He does in us is designed to make us a mature church for His pleasure, until we become a source of praise to Him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw (spot or wrinkle).

The parable of the ten virgins provides much insight to those who will be prepared for the wedding feast.  Jesus prepared us for this parable by first sharing the signs of the times and the End of the Age and we are told to watch, be ready, and endure to the end, for you know not what hour the Lord comes.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 25:

1  “When My coming draws near, Heaven’s Kingdom realm can be compared to ten virgins who took their oil lamps and went outside to meet the Bridegroom and His bride.

2-4 Five of them were foolish and ill-prepared, for they took no extra oil for their lamps. Five of them were wise, for they took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.

5 When the bridegroom didn’t come when they expected, they all grew drowsy and fell asleep.

6 Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’

7 So all the girls got up and trimmed their lamps.

8 But the foolish ones were running out of oil, so they said to the five wise ones, ‘Share your oil with us, because our lamps are going out!’

9 “ ‘We can’t,’ they replied. ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. You’ll have to go and buy some for yourselves!’

10 “While the five girls were out buying oil, the Bridegroom appeared. Those who were ready and waiting were escorted inside with Him and the wedding party to enjoy the feast. And then the door was locked.

11 Later, the five foolish girls came running up to the door and pleaded, ‘Lord, Lord, let us come in!’

12 “But He called back, ‘Go away! Do I know you? I can assure you, I don’t even know you!’

13 “That is the reason you should always stay awake and be alert, because you don’t know the day or the hour when the Bridegroom will appear.”

Five of those virgins were wise because they took extra oil. The other five virgins, however, were foolish because they didn’t bring extra oil.  The number 10  means “the measure of human responsibility” and also the number of “completion.”

The word “wise” is from the root word phren, which means “to rein in or curb the emotions.” These virgins were wise because they allowed God to continually rein in their self-life, which then allowed the Spirit of God (the oil) to come forth and produce fruit in their lives. The word foolish (Strong’s # 3474, moros) means “double-minded” (i.e., two lives are being lived—God’s and ours), and thus, these believers were full of darkness.

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 11:

33  “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.

34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.

35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.

36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”

All the virgins arose and trimmed their lamps (adjusted them), but the foolish found that their lamps had gone out and they had no oil to refill them.

While the five foolish virgins were gone trying to find extra oil, the Bridegroom came and those wise virgins who were ready, worthy, and prepared (who had their lamps lit), went in with Him to the wedding festivities and the door was shut.

Later when the five foolish virgins came, they said, “Lord, Lord, open the door.” But He answered them saying, “I know you not”.

The Two Garments

Wednesday, June 7th, 2023

There are two different kinds of garments a believer can wear.

Isaiah wrote by THE SPIRIT in chapter 61:

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

This is our external garment without spot or wrinkle. The second garment and the one that Christ requires for the Marriage festivities is the white linen garment made up of the believer’s own “righteous works” which was expressed in Revelation 19:7–8.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd Corinthians chapter 7:

1  Therefore, having these promises, Beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting Holiness in the Fear of God.

And in 2nd Corinthians chapter 11:

2  You need to know that God’s passion is burning inside me for you, because, like a Loving father, I have betrothed you (pledged your hand) in marriage to Christ, your True Bridegroom. I’ve also promised that I would present his fiancée to Him as a pure virgin bride.

Overcomers will be clothed in clean, white garments. This speaks of the internal sanctification and the moral fitness that Christ requires of His bride. This second garment, then, is the one that can get defiled, stained, and blackened through the believer’s own negligence.  Paul had a serious corrective interview with the Corinthian church concerning their immaturity and the need to move toward walking as mature saints based on Agape Love.

This second garment is one of our righteousness, Holiness, and Fear of The Lord.

Jesus spoke a warning to the dead church in Revelation chapter 3:

1  Write the following to the messenger of the congregation in Sardis, for these are the Words of the One who holds the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know all that you do and I know that you have a reputation for being really “alive,” but you’re actually dead!

2 Wake up and strengthen all that remains before it dies, for I haven’t found your works to be perfect in the sight of My God.

3 So remember all the things you’ve received and heard, then turn back to God and obey them. For if you continue to slumber, I will come to you like a thief, and you’ll have no idea at what hour I will come.

4 Yet there are still a few in Sardis who have remained pure, and they will walk in fellowship with Me in brilliant light, for they are worthy.

5 And the one who experiences victory will be dressed in white robes and I will never, no never erase your name from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge your name before My Father and His angels.

6 So the one whose heart is open let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is now saying to all the churches.

This is a warning to all of us!

James wrote by The Holy Spirit in his Epistle, chapter 1:

27   True spirituality that is pure in the Eyes of our Father God is to make a difference in the lives of the orphans, and widows in their troubles, and to refuse to be corrupted by the world’s values.

Jesus spoke in Revelation chapter 16:

15 “Behold, I come like a thief! God’s blessing is with the one who remains awake and fully clothed in me and will not walk about naked, exposed to disgrace.”

What happens to those believers who are not ready, not prepared, not fit, not holy, and not chaste? What happens to them? Are they allowed into the Marriage festivities?
