What Is Life About?

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

Life is about relationships, not places or “things”.  Love has a source and an object.  You are either a source or the recipient.  This should be considered today as you encounter others.

For FATHER so Loved you and me HE sent HIS first begotten Son to manifest HIS Word of Love so that we could have eternal life.

The Idol Issue

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016

An idol is an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship as well as a person or thing that is greatly admired, loved, or revered.  If a person, place, or thing overshadows your relationship with FATHER, it is an idol and must be cast down.

In Ezekiel chapter 14, FATHER spoke:

1 Now some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.

2 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

3 “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?

4 “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols,

5 that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols.” ’

If there is any passage that should be a warning to us, it is the above.  As part of our maturing process, FATHER will not force the Truth upon us but will allow us to experience error which in turn will produce some aspect of scarcity in our life.  No matter what your station in life is, you can have an idol.  Think not idols are only reserved for the rich and famous.

Look around you and see what you hold dear and are unwilling to part with.  What would happen if FATHER instructed you to part with that possession or relationship?  By THE SPIRIT Luke wrote in chapter 18:

18 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

19 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’

21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”

22 So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

Jesus exposed what was in the young man’s heart.  Even though he kept the commandments outwardly, there was a heart issue.  When things are going well, we can maintain a lifestyle and obey the Law but what happens when we might lose it all?  How would each of us react?  Each of us needs to assess our hearts and ask FATHER to bring any idols to the forefront of our consciousness.  Let no idol be found in the midst of the camp!

Cleansing the Inward

In Psalm 51:

5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,

And in sin my mother conceived me.

6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,

And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;

Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 Make me hear joy and gladness,

That the bones You have broken may rejoice.

9 Hide Your face from my sins,

And blot out all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,

And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

We can put on an outward appearance of purity but FATHER is focused on our inward parts, specifically our heart.  Out of our heart comes forth the intent by which our actions conform.  Men can modify their behavior for extended periods of time but in the end when the pressure comes, the outward will reflect the inward.  King David knew this when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband put to death.

We have all fallen short of HIS Glory in the past and thankfully FATHER is willing to purge us so that we become clean. white and without spot or wrinkle .  FATHER purges us from our past and behold we become whiter than snow.  Let us no longer settle for anything less than pure hearts.  Let us cast away any profane thoughts and give no place to the devil and his lies.  FATHER Loves us no matter how ugly our past is and HE has the desire and ability to restore us just as HE did with David.  In Exodus chapter 12:

22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.

Hyssop was used for cleansing and purging just prior to the “cross over” in order to become a Hebrew.  Let us look in our mirror for anything needing to be purged and ask FATHER to remove the impurities from our midst.  When our inward parts are fully cleansed, our perfection is at hand.
