The State of Relevance

Relevance means "important to the matter at hand."  Can people stay relevant with the passing of time?  Do their belief systems remain relevant or do they lose their importance as time passes?  By THE SPIRIT it is written in Hebrews 13 that Jesus was, is, and will be relevant to our lives without interruption:

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

However mans’ teaching loses its relevance rather quickly as men attempt to prophesy out of their own understanding rather than simply listen to FATHER’S Word given at an appropriate time and place.  They tend to hope that people will not remember the “words” that did not come to pass.  Most people can prophesy correctly once in while given enough tries.

When we continue to be engaged with FATHER’S Voice, our relevance remains high and we are able to credibly minister to those in need.  Our motivation is out of Love which is always relevant and we must not let the trials and tribulations we find ourselves in at a personal level keep us from ministering in a relevant fashion to others.  In 2 Corinthians chapter 11, Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT:

25 Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—

Paul’s personal challenges did not deter him from remaining relevant to the churches he was called to minister to and bless with the Love he experienced through Our Lord Jesus Christ.  This Agape Love is far greater than the sufferings listed above and furthermore it is enduring by its very nature.

Many people have at least one old cell phone in their drawer somewhere.  Why?  It is no longer relevant and now deemed obsolete by those who market their replacements.  It is though we get on this merry-go-round and become distracted by the temporary relevance promoted by the world.  Shouldn’t we be focusing on that which will stand the test of time and will remain relevant into eternity?  In John chapter 14 Jesus spoke:

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

What a blessed example of relevance.  Our relationship with Jesus Christ will never grow old and stale but will be the vital aspect of our existence throughout eternity.  Jesus is critical to our life and future so let us never allow men to convince us of their latest philosophies or theories.  Just look around and consider how many “things” will come and go this year alone.  Don’t get too focused on the temporal for it will only leave you empty on the inside.

PS: Anything FATHER has us do or say is relevant!
