Don’t Be Misled

Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 21:

5 And while some were talking about the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts, He said,

6 “As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down.”

7 They questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”

8 And He said, “See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not go after them.

9 When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately.”  NASB

Why focus on the future thus sacrificing the here and now?   Many people are seduced by those who make their living by constantly interpreting Scripture and applying it to future events.  They are making predictions which differs from prophecy given to mankind by FATHER.  There are Bible “prophecy” teachers who have been on television for decades and predicted Armageddon to be imminent.  How do we define “imminent” in terms of days, weeks, and months?

What is the result of a high-impact prediction?  It causes you to focus on the future event and you effectively become unwilling to make any plans for today, thinking that there is no need.  In the meantime, you fail to minister to others according to your purpose.  You begin to place all your attention on the prediction at the sacrifice of the present.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

FATHER spoke to me years ago and said “Now is the time!”  My focus must remain on the here and now and not worry or concern myself what men are predicting.  FATHER will tell me if I need to prepare for some major event.  Until then, I must immerse myself in HIS Word to renew my mind so that I effect change and move from potential to manifestation as Alan shared in yesterday’s video.  Paul expressed this by THE SPIRIT in Romans chapter 12:

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Men are easily seduced by those who are predicting the future for deep down, “Self” looks for assurance of the future in order to preserve the status quo.  When we truly place our trust in FATHER, we don’t need to worry about the future because FATHER will take care of us no matter what we face.  Let us not be misled and focus on predictions when we have plenty to focus on today.

In Acts chapter 1, it is written that Jesus told the disciples:

6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.”

Don’t worry, FATHER will guide us through whatever lies ahead.  Focus on today.
