Renew The Mind

Jesus Christ is Our Redeemer and Our Healer for His work on the cross removed the veil from us being able to stand before FATHER and receive from HIM.  It is solely because of Him that we receive answers to prayer, not by our own works.  Unanswered prayer is not due to FATHER’S inability to answer but the problem lies within us.  In John chapter 14, Jesus speaks to us:

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

Our unbelief in Jesus Christ’s redemptive power specific to each of us will hinder our prayer results.  When we come to FATHER in Jesus’ Name, we must not let unbelief enter in.  What causes unbelief to those who once walked in faith?    James wrote by THE SPIRIT in chapter 1:

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

When we are no longer a doer of The Word, we begin to focus on the world and its solutions to our problems.  When problems arise, we have three options: do nothing, seek the solution from the world, or seek FATHER in Jesus’ Name for the solution.  Which option do you find yourself taking?  When our prayers go unanswered, our flesh tells us to seek the world’s solution as an alternative rather than to seek FATHER and find out where the problem lies.  If we start trusting the world, then our trust in FATHER wanes and becomes diluted.  At some point we forget what kind of person we are.

How do we correct the problem?  Wisdom tells us in Proverbs chapter 4:

20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.

21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;

22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

We must once again renew our mind by spending quality time in The Word.  I have had to do this more than once in my own walk and I suspect I am not alone.  I know people who once walked in great faith yet they now have succumb to the ways of the world.  These days people want instant solutions and often become impatient if their solution does not come right away.  Their mind has been programmed to become impatient by the world’s current but ever-changing standards.  Our trust in The Way of Jesus Christ must remain strong for us to be able to receive answers to the issues confronting us today.  We must trust in His redemptive and restorative power, not the world’s alternatives.  By THE SPIRIT, Paul reminds us in Romans chapter 1:

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We are transformed by the renewing of our mind and this is not a one time event.  Let us seek FATHER daily and exalt Our Lord Jesus Christ with our lips above all.  We must not allow ourselves to be conformed to this world and give it priority over our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Let us repent if we have become lukewarm in our walk and let the fiery Word burn away the wood, hay, and stubble we allowed to enter in.
