Follow His Steps

By THE SPIRIT, Peter wrote in 1 Peter chapter 2:

21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

22 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;

We are specifically told to follow the steps of Jesus and if we were unable to follow His steps, FATHER would not have instructed us to do so.  In the past, many of us were taught that we are sinners saved by grace yet The Word teaches us we are a new creation as Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians chapter 5:

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Who are we going to identify with, The Holy Spirit, Our Comforter, or a preacher who wants to keep us in submission to his guidance and control?  As for me, I am a follower of Christ and with great joy will walk and follow in His footsteps.  Are not the Sons and Daughters of GOD instructed and encouraged to fulfill the work of Christ on earth?  In order to do this, we must take on the Words of Jesus in thought (intent), Word, and deed.  If deceit rises up in our mind, let us cast it out immediately before it takes hold and activates logic and reasoning of why it should remain.  In order to do this, we must know The Word and utilize It to combat those vain imaginations which evoke fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

In order to walk in this manner, we must know The Word and keep It before us day and night.  We should not allow the trappings of the world to take precedence over our quality time with FATHER and HIS Word.  By THE SPIRIT, James wrote in chapter 1:

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

How simple is the directive by FATHER.  We must choose to walk in the same footsteps of HIS Son and we will become like Him in all aspects of our life.  We will be blessed in everything we do.  The key is to change our expectations based on The Word rather than some past preaching.  The devil would try to reason with us why we can’t walk like Jesus but we must cast down those vain imaginations which would deceive us if possible.  Deceit began the death process in Adam thus let us remove deceit from the midst of us to promote the life process.  Jesus has shown us The Way so let us continue in His Words and deeds.  Let us follow His steps.
