Our Better Covenant

We have a better Covenant.  It is written by The Holy Spirit in Hebrews chapter 8:

8 Now this is the crowning point of what we are saying: We have a magnificent King-Priest who ministers for us at the right hand of God. He is enthroned with honor next to the throne of the Majesty on high. 2 He serves in the holy sanctuary in the true heavenly tabernacle set up by God, and not by men. 3 Since every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, so the Messiah also had to bring some sacrifice. 4 But since he didn’t qualify to be an earthly priest, and there are already priests who offer sacrifices prescribed by the law, he offered in heaven a perfect sacrifice.

5 The priests on earth serve in a temple that is but a copy modeled after the heavenly sanctuary; a shadow of the reality. For when Moses began to construct the tabernacle God warned him and said,

“You must precisely follow the pattern I revealed to you on Mt. Sinai.”

6 But now Jesus the Messiah has accepted a priestly ministry which far surpasses theirs, since He is the catalyst of a better covenant which contains far more wonderful promises! 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless no one would have needed a second one to replace it.

The first thing each morning, we should engage the Spirit realm.  We must discipline our body lest we become disqualified to enter into HIS Presence.

The Holy Spirit enforces blessings over us thus we are to increase, not diminish.  We need to be joyful “receivers” and expect FATHER’S blessings to come forth.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 4:

14 Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress. 15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

FATHER is glorified when HE answers our prayers and we see the manifested results.  I give FATHER the glory and honor for meeting my family’s needs.

We need to release our past.  What is hindering our ability to receive from FATHER?  As we listen to the impulses of The Holy Spirit and not our flesh, our expectation to receive will dramatically increase.  We need to bring our minds into captivity in this area and not be moved by our current circumstances.  Our past does not dictate our future.

We have written much about tithing and cheerful giving.  That Truth is only the first half of Heavenly flow through us.  The Holy Spirit recorded the following in Deuteronomy chapter 28:

1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:”

Anyone reading the blessings found in this chapter would be thrilled in receiving such rewards for obedience.  However, we have a better Covenant than this.  The New Covenant did not omit the blessings and result in an inferior covenant.  FATHER is the same as when HE originated the blessings of Deuteronomy chapter 28.

The adversary constantly promotes scarcity, sin, and death to those who are willing to listen.  If scarcity doesn’t work then he promotes greed, also known as the “love of money”.  Do you really think FATHER expects us to spread the Gospel in tattered clothes and warn out shoes?

We need to embrace ALL aspects of our Covenant, not simply those areas requiring little faith.  Do not become complacent in moving forward in The Holy Spirit.  We need to hear and respond to The Holy Spirit in all areas so that we will walk in every aspect of our Covenant with FATHER sealed by The Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Otherwise, we have not fully honored His Blood!
